David Astbury, Thank You

So happy Dave has resurrected his career. He deserves it, has worked hard and now has confidence in his body and on the field.

Good game by the *smile* last night, was solid as against Tex.
Probably never going to be the highly exciting run n gun defender that some might be hoping for. He'll play a key aerial role against the big forwards n hopefully play the defensive anchor role to allow other players the creative attacking rebound caper.

Walker was on holidays last night

I watched that duel closely, and Tex was visibly frustrated, and letting it show by the end of the match.

Astbury absolutely pantsed him.

And those are big pants.

He is now fit and believes again. No easy kicks on him

That's good enough for me. Rance is the star of the show and Dave is the straight man.

Fingers crossed that he has an injury free year.

It's taken a while but he's starting to show why we gave him the #12

Unfortunately has shown before good form early in the year before tapering away.

Let's hope this year is different

Well done to Astbury! Now lets just hope that he can string a few games together without injury

not as big as Eddies' pants.

But yeah, Theres a role for Dave. A gorilla tamer? As long as he doesnt have to make fast decisions with ball in hand, he could turn out ok.

I'd have a pretty set play when Dave gets the ball. i.e. handball it to Cellis or something.

Only two practice matches but Dave appears to lost much of his hesitancy and is more reliable and positive. Finally turned the corner?
yeah seems to be a little quicker in his decision making.

Having Grimes and Rance as support real helps him. Hopefully once we kick Conca out we will have a fairly settled back 6.

signs are good.

I never thought I'd say it, but appears calm and composed.

What the footy-lord giveth (Astbury), the footy-lord taketh away (Griffiths)?
