David Astbury, Thank You

Glad he didn't go to Brisbane.
We would have lost a decent player for a 3rd round pick.

Will be a player if he can stay fit.
I think he may have a broken thumb. Happened just in front of me and he was off the ground for an extended time and came back later. They got a run on when he was off too. Griff went back for a while. Think he may have been be jabbed up to get through.

Doing well. But part of me closes my eyes every time he gets involved waiting for the inevitable injury

Yep, get the same feeling. Ticking time bomb

Yes - has to be persevered with. We must see this year if Astbury has a future as the 2nd key back. If not, the need to get Hurley becomes essential (if it isn't already) as the list has more holes than Swiss cheese.

Having said the above, it wouldn't surprise if Chaplin may come in while Grimes is out & to provide support to Rance. However that won't help us long term - no future with Chaplin now.

I think that it's OK he's slow, provided we have speed and skills around him. Having Batchelor or Chaplin, and Vlaustin is asking for trouble.

Yes, but Astbury going well; he has enough pace for the big forwards he's expected to play on and usually kicks it well and thinks about it.
Expect he can only get better from here with some continuity and his confidence building.
