David Astbury, Thank You

Even though he got creds thought he looked slow last year too. Only the first practice game but view hasn't changed.

Think he'll regret not making the move up north. Particularly with Justin Clarke out indefinitely with concussion symptoms. Can't see him breaking in to the 22 unless we get a few injuries.

think everyone is overreacting. He'll be fine. rather Astbury in the side than Chaplin or Batchelor. First game in ages played in bad conditions, against a full strength top 4 side, in a weak side full of kids, where the ball was played in our defensive 50, up against Pav, who has pantsed Rance on a few occasions. Fully fit he's our second key back. key word is fully fit.

Agree Harry, way to much noise being made over a bunch of kids n mid range players being overwhelmed by a near full strength Dockers side in a first up practice match.
Put a couple of games into the mid range players n surround them with our best n they'll be far better off fulfilling a role rather than being expected to carry the can when it's over flowing.

I'd agree if he was fully fit, but I don't think he is and may never be able to get back to what he was early 2014.

HE is too slow Harry, has been since injuries in 2014.

Beware the early crow.

For mine Dave's main query is his up and under kicks and inability to hit targets.
So not a bad defensive option when fit and in form, but along with Grimes and Batch yet another key tall back that makes me nervous with ball in hand.
Grimes has zero left foot capability along with Taylor Hunt, and Batch can be hit and miss with his preferred, but like Grimes has no other side.
Which is why a bloke who is yet to play a game for us is so crucial to our fortunes this year.
Chris Yarran is going to be doing a helluva lot of backline run to receive - assuming he can get fit and on the park.

Way past it. Heavy, slow, as mobile as the Titanic.

Crazy move not going to Brisbane.

Gone. VFL footballer.

Requires surgery on thumb according to reports ... true / false ?

True,
David Astbury has been forced to go under the knife with a thumb issue.

Might be out for 2-3 weeks
