David Astbury, Thank You

Heard on the radio that he might have some grief with the tribunal this week for an elbow to the head?

Does anyone have some news on this?

It was'nt replayed and the Tv commentators made no mention of it. I'd like to see it again, it looked s bit crude and the guy stayed down for a few seconds.

If vickery was as good as Hardwick would have you believe, then there would've been no reason to put Astbury forward in the second half...

Have to try something as he looked horrible down back
Got monstered by Hawkins for sure.
But this time last year he was settling in well down back - so it's still an option.

Wouldn't write Astbury off yet, he's not long back from injury. I think he could be a good KPP, forward or back.

Agree. Was looking like he and rance could be an AA pair early last year, he's just back people lets not write him off just yet.

We need more skill and run in the back half. Deledio needs to play HB IMO.

We can blame Hardwick on this one.
Rance is the reining AA defender and Hawkins is their only real forward threat. What do we do......start an extremely underdone Astbury on him who is fighting back from a long lay off and an interrupted pre-season.
Dumb.

Ashbury will be OK. He was giving away 110 games of experience, 3 years of age, 2cm and 10kg to Hawkins.

I think he looks trimmer this year. Hawkins has the biggest shoulders in the league but he pushed Astbury out of the contest a bit too easy yesterday at times. Based on last year, I would have thought he would have the strength to go with him, but apparently not. I believe it was a calculated move to keep rance free to provide run of the backline but it didnt work out this time. Just like many other things on the day.
