Damien Hardwick

This is the only time in my life I've been punched in the guts with a tigers coach moving on.

Swooper was a shock but Dimma is up there with T Shirt Tommy as the Kings of Tiger Coaches for 3 in 4, alongside Tommy's 4 flags.

surely Duz will be gone this season.
He's contracted for next year, but it might make sense. Dusty for Gold Coast's first rounder that they are definitely selling would be a good start on what is now clearly a rebuild.

only if they’re prepared to take on his full contract and get us a top 3 pick

Throw in Dimma as well. Nice package deal

McCrae is now getting so much more out of the Collingwood group
than the sum of their parts, as Dimma was able to with the Tigers.

For the Tiges to have an edge going forward they will need to find someone who has a vision for where the game is going, and how it could be played to win moving forward.

And just being an assistant coach of a currently successful team should not in and of itself be enough; the Tiges need someone with the ability to empathise with players and to inspire them, which would rule out the likes of Figgy.

And where this new vision would leave the current playing list is anyone’s guess.

Speed and skill is what’s needed today, which the current Tigers list appears to be in short supply of.

The thought of a complete rebuild makes me feel sick, but apart from Baker, Rioli, Gibcus, Tarranto, Hopper & Cumberland who could we say will be around for the next premiership tilt?

(Not speculating on the other new recruits as I have no idea whether they will make it or not)*

Yep. Jack, Chimp and surely Duz will be gone this season.

Probably a good way for me to finally give this game up and move on. Can't be f*cked seeing this club start again.
C'mon mate. I'd rather start again and watch them build up rather than the inconsistencies we have today. Even during the most dominant years it wasn't as fun as watching a new team and plan form. I'm actually excited by the possibilities.

The only way this makes sense is that he is going to the blues

If they offered him a 5 year $6m deal he is going there for sure

The blues is the only way this makes sense

Watch this space
My Carlton supporting mates are already throwing up this scenario.

My mate had mail at the start of the year that this could happen. GC was the only other side he'd consider. He wants to retire up North.
Just reading some Huns supporters on BF saying Dimma will become Dewy's director and they want Short and Duz. Dreams....

Amazing coach.

Took on the worst job in footy at the time. Lost his first 9 games as coach by an average margin of 40+ points I think. We were being compared to Fitzroy at their worst but Hardwick was unfazed, he had a plan and went to work.

First Richmond coach in decades to take us to consecutive finals appearances. Rebuilt the list under the most compromised drafts the game has ever and likely will ever see. Suffered setbacks, plenty of them, some that would have broken lesser coaches but he learned, evolved and adapted like few others.

It all culminated in 3 glorious premierships in 4 years and they had to change the rules to counter what Hardwick had built.

Thank you Damien.
well said Furious!

Absolutely shocked to the core.
Thanks for the best memories we will all have with those 3 flags especially 2017, just the best years of footy for me and my kids, thanks a million Dimma!
Really, really interesting to see who will be our next coach.

First Dimma, then Dusty leaving. I don’t think I could handle it.

Backend of 2019 was a glorious time to be a Tiger.
We were steamrolling.
Amazing career at the Tiges.
Squeezed so much talent out of so called battlers.
The players loved him
