It's like working somewhere for over 10 years and moving into a new one. Difficult to accept a new coach.....unless internal.

Big, big shoes to fill as those 3 flags are not a long time ago.

This will take a long time to sink in especially for the seniors. Big soul searching 6 months to come and some very very big decisions. Just cross ya fingers Benny stays.

Sad to hear this. Dimma was the great hope we all yearned for throughout all those dark years.
But nothing lasts forever and he has been there now for a very long time.
Good luck to the man and I will be forever grateful for what he did for this club.

Must say after all they have been through together dissappointing it got leaked before the players knew.

Not Tom Morris' fault though. Any journo worth his salt runs with the story.

Just a shame someone leaked it to him.

We aren’t the club that many aspiring coaches had 2 minds about all those years ago.
we are successful, stable, and a leader within the community.
this is what was built under Damien.
he should be bloody proud.
and we as supporters thankful for his services to our great club.
its a sad day but also a day to celebrate an era that we actually gamed the AFL as we won 3 cups.
the AFL would prefer 1 cup so we’ve stuck it up them.
end of 2020 the gestapo tried to nobble us and to this time it has succeeded.
let’s celebrate DIMMA and our departing champs as surely some will retire now..
it’s the least we can do.
at the same time celebrate where our club stands in the pecking order.
coaches old, retread and new will want a go at the gig with one if not the biggest club in the land.

Broady was on 360 before the news broke, I wonder whether he knew? If he did know, he was obviously going to keep mum about it.

The Age are saying......................"Hardwick, 50, informed Tigers CEO Brendon Gale of his decision on Monday and has started calling players to tell them, according to a club source."

I was in denial until it popped up the AFL site.

Thanks Dimma. I’ll be forever grateful.

A first time senior coach for me, they seem to have the most flag success in recent history gojng back a quarter century or so:

C Scott, Goodwin, Dimma, Simpson, Beveridge, Clarko, Longmire, Thompson, Worsfold, Roos, Williams, Sheedy, Pagan (Malthouse and Matthews ruin the streak)
Need to compare the percentage with the percentage of recycled coaches in the league. We probably forget all the 2-3year new coach failures at various teams.
