He is deluded bordering on clueless nowadays. Dimma, Maric, Clarke, Mcqualter and a few others. Big broom needed.
Wouldnt bet on it man there is still next weekI but I'll take this as our bottoming out game of the season.
I'd say it wouldn't have been the same result at the G and we definitely should beat Wet Coke there next week.Wouldnt bet on it man there is still next week
McRae & Leppa were clearly more than coaches. All of a sudden Kingsley is building something at GWS. Sometimes in business and sport, the right people have chemistry without trying and culture is formed. Its reformed over time but the energy and natural chemistry that created the culture creates a platform that success naturally comes from. And don’t forget Peggy is gone as well. Huge shift in chemistry around the club. Benny maybe thinking about the AFL job could be having ab impact. Things change. The entire coaching set looks flat. I sat near the race where they come on and off the ground. Normally they run off the ground. Our assistants just dawdled, looked vacant and flat, no energy.
Hooch looked immensely frustrated. Shaking his head as he approached the gate.
All true W. Amazing how only we know about the pre-season issues so far. Dimma never gets asked.Look some are ‘potting’ Damien Hardwick and being critical of players.
We see it and remark. Doesn’t make us bad supporters.
2022 I think was our last chance to win a GF.
We pushed the Cats and we’re coming hard , so they knocked out our playmaker.
I think the Ghosts of 2020 would have returned and the Cats would have been aware , that the Lions eliminating us by ‘our stupidity’ opened the door and the Swans didn’t give a yelp. The flag was theirs.
But it took a “rethink” of Scott to realise he had to bring a small forward, quicker ball movement and relentless pressure.
Did we overate our list hence the recruitment of the two GWS boys and giving away so many picks to obtain them.
Injuries , you can’t plan for that but the club obviously believed that we had the youngsters to come in and play to a “system”. One soldier in, a soldier out, the system should stack up as the VFL boys would have an understanding of ‘our game plan”.
I for one had that feeling from our Pre Season games, where certain players were being played and Caesar’s weekly updates on what he was seeing.
In a year that we , I say we, May finish last on the ladder, we sold the farm to bring in contested midfielders when that wasn’t our style at all.
To me I wanted them to go after a tall , capable forward and back. Easy to say now.
$ should have beefed up areas of concern for me which was talented conditioning staff and assistants that could bring in fresh ideas and challenge Hardwick.
An emphasis on skill and a game plan that is identifiable we didn’t really address during the pre season games our in training sims.
I’m not going to sit here , write and pot two champions of our club.
They obviously believed in themselves they could go on or the club wanted them to go in the belief we would play finals with the list we had.
We owe alot to Jack and to Cotchin.
We have to understand that to expect Jack to dominate for 23 rounds would have been folly.
We also have to realise that without Lynch , Jack will get the best defender. To make things worse our delivery too him has been poor and being caught behind so often has compounded the problems in our F50 because he is unable to make a contest to bring the ball to the ground.
Our lack of skills is evident for all to see and we lack leg speed.
Dimma , the Tigers since he took over ‘a basket case’ left by Wallace in 2010 has brought 3 flags and final appearances in another 4 years. One a PF in 18. Pies stopped us from 4 in a row. We would have smashed WC.
So in 13 years=
1. 3 Flags
2. 1 PF
3. 3 Finals. Who knows what could have been !
A complete rethink has to be done on this season. It’s highly unlikely we play finals and in a draft where the number 1 player everyone is talking about will be GWS if we finish last.
Of course the club will not come out and admit defeat, or finals are out of the question, use injuries as an excuse but we can see without ‘rose coloured glasses” that finals for 2023 is done.
Again I don’t blame Hardwick, nor Jack & Cotch for going on this year, as we don’t know truly what was discussed behind closed doors. It’s easy to go after them both , but they are not the problem.
Do we want to be ruthless and treat them both the way the Hawks did with so many of their older players who brought them success.
I haven’t heard Dimma’s press conference as it hurts knowing ‘our era’ , our last chance is over.
I’m just saddened and upset at some who are pitting other PreEnders who are trying to understand the quick fall from grace of so many of our ‘champion players’ and players who contributed to our 3 Flags.
Dynasty’s don’t last forever.
Ours can be traced back from 2013, which brought 3 flags from 2017-2020.
What I want to see ‘the kids to keep playing’ to have a proper look without giving them ‘labels’.
Then I would imagine at seasons end , some hard talks and decisions need to be made. All aspects of the club will need a truthful and honest appraisal if we want to climb back up the ladder quickly.
Those players deserve that from us all and acknowledge their contributions to our club, even though many in the media and coaches ( from other clubs ) tried to discredit our success.
Ross Lyon said that he was in awe how we played, our hunt in numbers, our game style which changed the game.
Let’s get as many supporters to next Saturday’s game against West Coast as we can because the media, like vultures will be picking at our carcass and revelling in our demise.
In ending this, if Hardwick’s heart isn’t in it to rebuild the club, or if he doesn’t surround himself with fresh assistants next year , then I’m afraid at what depths we could go to and that the wilderness which was 37 years might return.
We are seeing the MasterCoach who has taken over North Melbourne and how hard the job will be.
There are no guarantees just because you have been successful.
The AFL don’t want one team dominating for 3-4 years, winning flags.
Tomorrow will be a gut wrenching listening.
Waiting.
Hopefully he knows where we are at now.I thought Hardwick was honest in his press conference - he knows where we are at and the difficulty he has in turning us around this season.

did he ? when ?Dimma has stated publicly that he will step aside when we stop contending.
It's murky and unclear.
But I don't know where we are at.
That was before the affair. The ex wife would’ve cleaned him out.did he ? when ?
I recall him saying he will go when players stop improving
Thanks Merveille.Well done Waiting that’s full on
This may well be the case. That was before the affair. The ex wife would’ve cleaned him out.
