What Rubbish.I dismissed the impact of the marriage breakdown at the time. Maybe there is something in it though. Our performances, and his, since 2020 flag have been very erratic.
Or might be the best thing for him.Instead of being gifted games after a lack luster pre-season.A kick up the butt.Or end up like Stack.I agree his a great coach , but the Cumberland crap was stupid and his been one of our best since coming in the side no brainer.

Pretty sure you were leading the charge on the sack Dimma campaign in 2016, now
You’re accusing others of drivel. Brilliant. You should write some self absorbed rubbish about mountains.
Good point, I’ll throw out all my kyuss records cos the mountain poet said they’re *smile*. I’m guessing you’re more of a matchbox 20 kind of guy.Dimma is a great coach. I don’t want him sacked but I think he might walk at end of year.
If he stays and still has the juice, fine with me.
Also, Kyuss is a really *smile* band (and name)
No, and they’re pretty much the same lolGood point, I’ll throw out all my kyuss records cos the mountain poet said they’re *smile*. I’m guessing you’re more of a matchbox 20 kind of guy.
The mountain has chosen. Sometimes it isn't sought. Sometimes it isn't an object of desire. Until you realize you're standing at base camp and you're in love again.
How to sum up our emotions at the foot of this current mountain? Looking up, it's the most fearsome peak yet - filled with hidden valleys, haunted by storms, cursed by maddening false promises and cold, empty dead-ends.
Mr Damien Hardwick has done it again. A mailman delivering on time, as promised, despite copping more than one flat tire along the way. Players old and new speak passionately about his undying capacity to motivate, to enthrall, to elicit the very best from a man's soul. Experts, fans and coaches alike talk of 'rewiring', of 'refreshing', of 'renewal'. That's precisely where we sit, as confronting as it might seem. The glittering era of 2017-2020 is but a brilliant memory - alive, but intangible. In many respects, gone. This team is on a heist run - should we claim the unthinkable, it would be a bandit raid to eclipse Hawthorn of 2008, Adelaide of 1997 and a host of other thieves in the night.
So many stories to this most unlikely of finals runs. A club meandering for much of the year has found its purpose, its collective resolve. A seed has been planted, a narrative has gathered glorious momentum. We know our coach loves nothing more than a good story, told both in furious bursts and quiet moments over a long campaign. As always, those without the ultimate success, whose who look sideways at premiership cups and medallions, ride high in the players' imaginations. Robbie Tarrant, hardened knight at the end of his crusades. Tyler Sonsie, elegant teen discovering the layered universe of his silky ability for the first time. Maurice Rioli Junior, brilliant starburst plastering smiles on faces all over the country.
The mountain has chosen. This club has been imperiously successful for some time now and in some respects grown fat off the land. We could forgive some players for failing to find the rabid, feral edge that turned them into junkyard dogs in previous campaigns. We could forgive some players for finding nothing but pleasant reflection inside where once a dark resolve glittered like a knife in the night. We could forgive our club for charting a stately course to the next halcyon crop of stars, a frontier for other leaders, other coaches, other dreamers.
But the mountain has chosen. We stand in the furnace once more, where there is nothing else to do but fight for your life. The crucible is near - the darkest, most sinister challenge I've seen. As foreboding as the next month must surely be, I am equally certain that fear has been eradicated from the fabric of this amazing, amazing club. Whatever is thrown at us in battle tonight, we will raise the fight.
The mountain has chosen. In so many ways we didn't seek it. But rising to meet the coming storm could result in the sweetest victory of all.
Quick question. Was this as embarrassing to write as it was to read?
He might as well do it to the whole list and especially our senior players who have been the biggest let down.Or might be the best thing for him.Instead of being gifted games after a lack luster pre-season.A kick up the butt.Or end up like Stack.
Senior player been there done that.He might as well do it to the whole list and especially our senior players who have been the biggest let down.
I always thought he was more a Radiohead type of guy...At one point, he wrote some useful insights. Times are tough. But I don't think we've hit an iceberg either - although the injury gods are certainly trying to conjure up the mother of all season ending ones for Dimma to try navigate around.Radiohead are OK but did lose themselves up their asses, fully agree with this career synopsis. Hail to the Thief did redeem matters a little.
As for me, my posting merely reflects the club’s fortunes. Some here do not like to hear it when times are tough.
I do think we’ve still got plenty of exciting talent on the list so not all is lost.
Ps I am certainly no Radiohead bleeding heart but they are infinitiely better than “Kyuss” lol

Airbag is pretty much perfectRadiohead are *smile* genius.
Way to rational for some on here Dave, simply wasted on the perennial lurkers that are outraged we haven't won the last few flags n entitled to win this years as well.Geez, the knives are out quick aren't they? Some of the posters here could ghost write for Kane Cornes, just fly off at the handle over what has happened in the last 48 hours, wait 48 more hours and reload to do it again.
Yes, the team is struggling and there are clear problems. But the distance between playing well and playing badly is very close, we've seen that a number of times this year. Produced some great patches of football but not enough consistency. I don't think anyone here is under any illusion that we are travelling well, but we are not bottoming out either.
I'm sure that there were plenty of trolls on places like Big Footy who expected Dimma to blame injuries or some other factors for our loss last night. He didn't, he was honest, we didn't play well enough and had too many brain fades. Still, I suppose a loss like last night will be feed for trolls who just like to put the knife into Dimma and the Richmond Football Club. Their sad existence does not interest me at all.
But I do have a question for all those sharpening the knives - what is your solution? We have a lot of injuries, and that does have an impact. We are clearly rebuilding after a period of success and we have had mediocre draft picks which is a problem you get when you have success. We had a glaring issue last year in clearances and we have tried to address that, so we are being pro-active. Do people want us to bottom out, do they want us to try and rebuild on the run? What do you want?
I reckon we can rebuild but we all knew it would be hard with so many greats coming to the end of their careers. The expectation that we can somehow easily replace players who we have lauded as some of the best of their generation, if not of all time in some cases, is just fantasy land. We have some good youth, and, no doubt, some young players who won't make the grade. We have issues and need to have a good look at the game plan in the context of the players we have and the changes to the game, not to mention why the game plan appears to be just not happening. Maybe the game plan is good, I'm not seeing much evidence of a plan being implemented so execution is just as much of an issue as the overall strategy.
I am old enough to remember the way we lost Hafey after 4 flags, had one last hurrah in 1980, then fell to pieces after 1982. It wasn't pretty and we cannot go down that road again. Sober evaluation of the issues, a medium term plan to honestly look at where we are falling short is the way forward. We don't need to bottom out but we do need to look at how we can get back to being competitive.
