Hardwick was making it clear that the substitute rule sucks and he has no idea why there is not just 5 on the interchange which is apparently what the majority of coaches wanted and the afl ignored.
Hardwick was complaining about every team needing to name 26 rather than the 22 plus sub
No he said was always going to be the aub but had to name more than just the 23 hence created a story.
I liked it. AFL are *smile*, trial by media is *smile*, commentators are *smile*. 5 stars
The media will circle the wagons this week. They will come hard for Hardwick. I hope the club doesn’t speak to anyone them.

I liked it too, he asked the obvious question as to whether we are now going to somehow ban crashing into a pack to attempt a mark or spoil. If that happens we might as well shut up shop because Australian Rules Football is dead.
Very different to his usual response which is along the lines of "I didn't see the incident".
Now, we need to avoid the micromanagement side of Hardwick, we saw where that led in 2016, but when the team isn't performing you can see why the happens.

Geez, we are in a weird spot right now. From the beginning of last season to yesterday, we’ve lost 10 games, 6 of those by a goal or less. With the exception of the first St Kilda game last year and Collingwood last week, we have lead at some point in the second half of every single match. We are clearly competitive no matter the opponent yet something is missing.
