I'm sure they are. Those selectors are hopeless.

Re: Cricket

Griffith & Hilfenhaus both 3 wickets for Tassie against QLD.
Hilfenhaus got 7 for in the last state game.
More young (ish) bowlers keeping the pressure on.

Re: Cricket

Do you know much about Griffith wowser I see you mentioned earlier.
Looked ok last year but was he injured for a start.
He has a couple of bags.
Just cant get into baggy green at moment to see profile

He's 28, hence young-ish. 120 First Class wickets at about 30. No great shakes as a batsman.
Tall, sharpish, seen him in ING cup games on TV.
What Australia really needs if a Quick lefty, or Tait to come on, he is seriously qucik, and a real handful.
Case in point ING final, turned the game in his second & third spells.

ala Bevan, i do not have an opinion bout this as i have not seen enough of Brad to form an opinion.
Think hes got the Bevvo treatment.
Bevan would be a better option than some of these other hacks.
5 years ago maybe but not now. He's finished & I think his knee is stuffed also.
True enough mb64.
Unfortunately for Bevan who was is an extremely good player. He came along at a time when batting strength in this country was never deeper. Just didn't grab those couple of chances at Test level when they presented themselves and had his ticket stamped early. Would have played a lot of Test cricket for any other country in the world at that time and been successful too.

Bevan's demise for the test arena seems to be related to him not being able to play the short ball.

sorry ToO never rated Bevan I thought just played for himself and that is why he was dropped. The captain wanted to use him as a part time bowler after his success but he refused and when the runs dried up and he always looked soft and like a squib against fast bowlers like Caddick he was dropped. I will never forget his dismissial in 3rd test against England, he never played for Australia again in tests.

Katich has been playing for himself since he got in the side :p

Re: Cricket

Hodgey didn't do his cause any good out last ball for 16
Vics 3/36

Aussies won overnight

Saf won toss and batted
246
Dipennar 101
Pollock 53no
Bracken 10-2-36
Lewis 10-2-38

Aust 9/247 with 5balls to spare
Symonds 76
Katich 46 off 68
Gilly 45
Marto 1
Clark 16no
Lewis 4no

Lewis will probably be dropped now for last match for Mitchell Johnson

Griffith has 43 wickets at 27 with best 5-79 wowser, worth going on Aussie a for a look.

Re: Cricket

Second Test, Mohali
England 300 (Flintoff 70, Pietersen 64; Kumble 5/76)
India 149/4 (Dravid 60 not out)
Stumps, day three

England have done well this far but time may be against a result either way. Watch the news for Bell's screamer at cover to get rid of Yuvraj. :thumbsup

Re: Cricket

Hodge is more deserving than Martyn and possibly Clark as well. These two failed in the UK and Martyn in particular has no claims at all. Hodge however might not be the next best.

Jacques to me should have been an early selection for S.A.
