Cricket

England defeated Afghanistan to go through to the final of the 50 over Under 19 World Cup, Australia play India tonight in the other semi final.

Australia has had the harder draw, with Pakistan in the 1/4 final and now India who are trying to win their 4th successive World Cup.

Lets hope that Richie Benaud day 22/2/22 brings some luck to our under 19 lads tonight against India.

So far 2 casualties from Englands Ashes debacle, Ashley Giles and coach Chris Silverwood gone.

Regardless of views on his coaching, Cricket Australia is making one of the all time great messes with the handling of JL.

If it ends up in a messy exit and he jumps ship to coach the Poms to an Ashes win in 2023 then there will be a conga line of CA executives and board members exiting the organisation.
so CA making a mess, even a truly big mess, isnt that big a surprise.
It seems like both CA and the ECB are in a tussle to see who can be more inept

Cricket Australia and the players need be honest with all Australian cricket fans. Sandpaper gate was a big kick in the guts and embarrassing for all cricket fans.

I have never been his number one fan, bit I respect Langer. If Australian fans are told by the players what it was with Langer that grated on them, and why they wanted changed (assuming that's the case) then cricket will be able to move forward. But after sandpaper gate, us fans deserve to be told the truth, because this has the potential to disenfranchise a lot of fans.

Not a particular fan of Langer but the handling of this by CA is diabolical.
Not the first time too. However, if he was 'micro-managing' players, I can understand their reason to get rid of him no matter what he achieved.

I've seen all sorts of coaching personalities; school teacher types who analysed everything to within an inch, quiet sit back and let the players lead types, ranter and ravers, old school father figures, one of the boys types and combinations of all of them.

The one thing they all had in common was some players liked them and some didn't. I think judging a coach by anything else than performance is fraught with danger.
For sure, but if it goes too far, complaints will be made. I recently quit my job after 5+ years as micro management was part of the reason. I tolerated being patronised but the d-head went too far. Reverse of this cricket situation. If others complained, he would've been gone, but if it's just one person or a few, then senior management wouldn't give a stuff and tell you to leave.

Get Punter.

Bahaha absolutely no chance the great man would even entertain talking to the backstabbing head of CA Nick Fuckley.

Not for all the money in the world.

Punter has already said today that JL has been pushed out and the treatment of Langer and Paine by CA is embarrassing.

Think that answers the question of how much respect he has for them.

Seriously Fuckley and Oliver could not have handled this summer any worse.

Train wrecks of leaders.

Spineless.
