Yep, I deadset thought he was a trundler, who would struggle at the level. He is McGrath like with his consistent line and length, and he seems to have found 7-10 kmh as well. He'd be loving life at the moment, but I doubt you'd hear it from him. Living the dream.

I reckon Buck Rogers has played a big part in Boland's development too, his appointment as coach seems to coincide with his improvement.
Kohli's got a very healthy dose of the ugly Aust cricketer about him these days. He'd fit in extremely well with a few of our players from very recent era's.
Yes, he definitely took more than a few pages out of Michael Clarke's (what a schmuck) play book. He got results, but took it a bit too far at times for my liking.
No offence to Boland, but the level he is currently bowling to would be lower than half the shield cricket he has played.

The good thing about Boland's night watchman effort was he did what a night watchman is meant to do, protect the recognised bat and take the heat. It's a big ask but Scotty did it excellently.

Aussies have batted very poorly in this second dig. Very soft leg side dismissal of both Marnus and Head. Disappointing effort so far.
Even though we’ve won this series comfortably there a still some gaps in our batting line up. The openers are a real concern. Warner is badly out of form and Kawahja, for all his heroics in Sydney is 35 and not an opener. Harris doesn’t seem the answer either. You’d back Smith and Marnus to regain form (drop the irritating antics though geez) and Head has had a great series despite that rubbish dismissal.

Been the Poms best bowler by quite a margin. Bowls with some heat as well. Broad has been pretty good too.
All 7 wickets in the match from balls pitched in his half. Khawaja unlucky, the others dumb shots.
Marnus was a strange one, usually doesn't play them. Was his dismissal in the 1st innings still in his mind.
The Head one shows the player that Head is. He will score innings like he did in the 1st dig but followed by those sort of dismissals. He likes bat on ball and he plays at most. Its why his strike rate is so high in the series. If you want the sort of innings he scored in the 1st, you need to accept those sort of dismissals too.
Not really. Boland got a good one. Head, see my previous post. He wants to get bat on ball, its in his DNA, so they played for that and got it, good tactics. Smiths was a strange shot as was clear thats what England were trying to get him to do, sucked right in.
You are essentially saying that any wicket to a short ball is just dumb batting and giving no benefit to the bowler,
Boland's a No.11, and he's got Cummins & Starc to half hearted hook shots. Head a poor shot, Smith dumb, in the circumstances. Credit to Wood, he's bent his back, but figures probably flatter him a bit.
