Maybe get your eye in first, Davy, before throwing the bat around. Just odd for such an experienced opener in conditions where ball is both swinging and cutting!
Doubt we have solved the missing opener problem although Usman might go alright on Pakistan/ME pitches (depending on where next series will be played?).
Think he is far better suited down the order as a natural stroke-player. Bit late to consolidate his position as an opener on wickets like this at 35. Like England.

Yep, Boland is no Bunny that's for sure, he did very well as nightwatchman when conditions for batting were very tough.
Think you are being a bit harsh there.
Since that disaster of a tour (for him anyway) to England in 2019. He has played 12 tests (in what 2 and a half years) but still score 1,126 runs in those tests (18 innings) at an average of 62.6. Even taking out the 335 NO he scored against Pakistan, he has averaged 46.5 in those 17 innings.
As a pom, I'd kill for an opener to have those averages over a 2 and a half year period.

Gotta be on the slip fielders, getting their positioning wrong initially, but surely some peanut in the coaching gallery should be watching the game n rectifying this issue at the first opportunity as well.
Carey simply takes up his positioning behind the stumps n the slips are supposed to space themselves off his positioning. Probably just Davey, Smiff n Kwaj all wanting to snuggle up close n chat quietly among themselves between deliveries.
Reckon Broad is living so far inside Warner's head, he's actually batting for him. Short n wide outside off n moving away so Davey flaps the bat at it n Broad was shocked that he could be so stupid.
Labuschange fell over last innings stepping so far across his stumps he exposed them all to a straight n full ball from Broad so this time he stays in front of his stumps n tickles a ball going away down leg. For the master of leaving balls his flap was as stupid as Davey's.
Kwaj struggled a bit, but at least he got himself in n set up with out doing anything stupid, then unfortunately got mugged by a beast of a ball.
Simply loved Boland's efforts as night watchman. Took plenty of deliveries n kept the heat off Smiff. Poor buggers hands copped a pounding so I hope he's right to bowl during the Poms second innings.
Reckon he and the other quicks need to present Wood with a serious dose of his own short n nasty. Jig a Jig used Wood superbly during our batting. Green, Starc, Cummins, Kwaj all got worked over by the quick short n nasty with a leg side field while the other seamers bowled line n length n let a bit of movement do the job.
Bloody lucky for us that the Poms batting is way more inept than ours has been so far this game, should at least keep them from having any chance of winning even one test this series.

Resigned..............before he was sacked ?
Was forced to resign as T20 captain after India got smashed in the T20 World Cup, a couple of months was sacked as India's ODI captain.
And he now resigns a couple of days after losing the test series against South Africa where he sooked it up at a level that would've done Salty Scott proud.
I've got a massive man crush on Boland, what a likeable guy he is. No fuss, he just goes about business with a steely determination. His last spell with the ball yesterday was magnificent.
Considering the light, the pink ball and with Wood bowling extreme heat he did as good a job as nightwatchman as I can remember from anyone. Ya just knew he was going to get behind the ball.
And a Richmond man too. He'd be a hard as nails fullback that teammates would love and fans would just idealise, of that I'm sure.
The BCCI have told Kohli to step down, they will have then gone to the ICC and told them Kohli’s stepped down, that’s your pound of flesh, no further action will be taken against the team or the players.
Kohli has got off extremely lightly, he should've been publicly sacked by the BCCI.
He is in disgrace, and should have had to face a press conference to answer questions on his behaviour and his sacking/resignation.
They won’t do that. The Indian public love Kohli, and this latest incident will have only endeared him further to them.
