Yep. Thommo had probably the ideal action for a quick bowler as far as load n stress on the body went. Control at times was an entirely different matter though.
Ain't that the truth, he sure could spray them around at times.

Peaked he aint getting any better from there ..................................................NZ have dropped Ajaz Patel for test series against Bangladesh. This is the bloke who took 10 for in his last test match, (14 for the match).
It's Bangladesh, he could take all 20.Peaked he aint getting any better from there ..................................................
Didn't we drop somebody after making a double century once?NZ have dropped Ajaz Patel for test series against Bangladesh. This is the bloke who took 10 for in his last test match, (14 for the match).
Jason GillespieDidn't we drop somebody after making a double century once?
I thought you followed the Rockhampton Red-nosed Reindeers??Who’s winning the Big Bore League ? How are the Townsville Pterodactyls going ? They’re my team.
Brad Hodge made 200 as well, and didn't stay in too long after wards.Haha. That's fair enough then I guess.
I think he played about 5 tests after.Brad Hodge made 200 as well, and didn't stay in too long after wards.
He played 6 total, scored 203 n.o. in his third, and played the next 2 in a row, and 1 more nearly 2 & 1/2 years later. Averaged nearly 56.I think he played about 5 tests after.
Like many others, suffered from being a Victorian.Has to be amongst the most unlucky cricketers ever in terms of not getting international opportunities.
An amazing striker of the ball, good bloke and handy fielder and part time offie. Should have played 50 tests.
Hodge made a big big score then got dropped too didnt he?Didn't we drop somebody after making a double century once?

It was the 246 not out he made against India at Headingley in 1967.I seem to recall Geoff Boycott got dropped after a double century, the issue being it took about 5 sessions.

Reckon you'd be right 23.21.It was the 246 not out he made against India at Headingley in 1967.
The Wisden Book of Test Cricket says this ...
"Boycott's 246 not out was scored off 555 balls in 573 minutes and included a six and 29 fours; it remains the highest innings by either side in this series and he shared in hundred partnerships for three successive wickets. His first hundred occupied 341 minutes (316 balls) and he was excluded from the next Test as a disciplinary measure".
Note: By "series" that book means every Test ever between the two countries, and it is no longer the highest anyway, now fourth.
A bit rough I think. He opened the batting, his partner, Edrich, made 1 and they were 1 for 7, and England won by six wickets.
England made 4/126 declared in the second innings and Boycott did not bat.
Reckon there is more to that story.
