day one over---aussie supporters getting cocky again.
werrivee u12's could have made 342-3 on that pitch on day one....
no movement at all, and a very flat pitch....

england do have to make more than 350 when they bat.

dad's army arent over the line yet

lucky they batted first or england would be 342-3
Fair call Bunnerz. To me the wicket was a real disppointment & should have given something to the bowlers.A great toss to win.

Re: Cricket

4-437 and well on the way to a monster score.
Pity Hussey missed out on a ton,but Ponting at 182 in reach of a double ton.
Be great to smash 600 and then rout the unwashed.

Re: Cricket

Ponting out finally for 196 & Gilly for a duck both lbw.Gilly looks very uncomfortable when Poms bowl around the wicket to him.

Have to agree

A bowling attack half comprised by a geriatric McGrath and another 30 plus medium pacer in Clark is not the most intimidating that Australia has ever fielded (you can imagine the collective sigh of relief in the English camp when Tait was sent home). Lee can't bowl for long spells (it's not his Job) and Warne can't do it all. Australia could well be in for a very long grind in the field (assuming that England’s confidence hasn't been shot to pieces).

:rofl Anymore geriatrics we can pick? The geriatric nearly got a geriHAT trick!!

The "geriatric" and the other "30 plus medium pacer" did alright as far as I saw. They bowled to a simple plan..bowl straight. Doesn't matter how fast you can bowl as long as you bowl well. This was why Clark was chosen. Tait and Johnson are faster but far more erratic.

Re: Cricket

 No ball?!?! *smile*, eh?
Not the first stroke of luck we've had though. Billy Bowden saved a four miraculously off Warne's bowling.
...Should've caught it though. ;D

Re: Cricket

Agree bunners, how dare he give Riccardo out so close to his 200.

How bad are your beloved Poms? :rofl

Onya Ooh Ahh.  A bit of life left in the old dog yet. ;)

To give the bowlers a rest.

If they kept bowling they might get a bit sloppy.

Agree. Also maybe Punter wants to really bury them and their confidence.

Is Nick Jewell (Vic) any relation to Tony?

I find it amazing that people dont understand the rational behind not enforcing the follow on!

And yes, Tony is Nicks dad.
