Coronavirus

The day a St Kilda sex worker got the Delta we were stuffed. It’s now at a St Kilda backpackers. People won’t come forward in these situations as they don’t want to admit how they good have got the virus if they used a sex worker. Or the sex worker has given it to someone else they socialise with who may be homeless.

I hope there is a plan to get the more unfortunate people that can’t quarantine for 2 weeks that are homeless, get vaccinated and housed.

I also wonder what is happening at the safe injecting rooms in Richmond. Are they taking the opportunity to vaccinate at the same time?

This is quite compelling and makes you wonder why there is such an anti - ivermectin attitude in the west.

It also mentions the use of Doxycycline which is what Trump was promoting from memory

Surely the sex worker's clients checked in with the said service provider's QR code? ;)

It got into the homeless community and intravenous drug users in Stkilda and probably that was the start of the cluster in st kilda and prahran.

We had the hotel accomodation in place last year for the homeless, not sure that is happening this time around.

Yep it's obvious a substantial shift in thinking is needed from the VIC authorities. People seem to have grown tired of Dan's 1980s school principal persona. The posturing and lecturing has got old; people aren't listening.

They need to work out a way forward where people can enjoy more freedom in relatively low risk situations. Maybe the beach is okay but you still can't have parties at home. If people are allowed more freedom in low risk settings they may be more likely to follow the rules in high risk settings.
Spot on. I think many people would be happy with a 5km/10km travek limit but able to met another family / person in an outdoor setting. The benefit to mental health and social isolation would be much improved.

I don't think non-mask wearing is the main issue. Its putting yourself into higher risk situations - home visits, being indoors in close proximity for extended periods of time.

How many infected people in Melb caught the virus in these situations? How many caught it in a park or at the beach or at a supermartket?

They should be providing more info on transmission.
Agree. I’ll stick with my view that rule breakers are in general uninformed and don’t realise they are playing Russian roulette as they live in a different information bubble.

Nadia Bartel breaching Covid rules with a bunch of friends together in a house and doing nose beers ?
Wouldn't surprise if true. She's just another of these vacuous *smile* "influencers" who are a blight on society and think regular rules don't apply them.

I did a 14 hour long haul flight with her and some of her friends sitting in front of me a few years ago. Absolute dheads. All of them.

Everytime I see a show on TV and the person's occupation is introduced as an "influencer" I feel like putting a bottle through the TV. My wife made the comment, if someone said to her, they are an "influencer" in the context of it being an occupation, her response is, "Yes, that goes under the hobbies or qualities section, but what do you really do?"

If we lived at a time when truth mattered Paul Kelly would be sacked today. The Chief Medical Officer has a responsibility to provide accurate advice to the public. It can literally be a matter of life and death.

He made two claims yesterday which are outright lies.

1. "There is not a single study that shows effectiveness of Ivermectin against Covid." There are over 60, including invitro, in vivo, in silico, observational trials , randomised control trials and meta analyses

Here is a report on the latest ridgey didge double blind randomised control trial from Israel.

2." Ivermectin is not safe". Below is a link to the World Health Organisation's database of recorded adverse events for medications. Read the standard disclaimers on page 1 and then do a search of Ivermectin and your drug of choice and see how they compare. Try aspirin, paracetemol or Comirnaty.

Will any mainstream journalist in Australia hold him to account?

NSW on the rise again, 1,431 cases and 12 deaths. They are a lot of the reason we have so many cases now.

Not sure when it will go down there bu at least it is only edging up at the moment.

DS

A woman in her 30s, one of NSW 12 deaths today.
Plenty of AZ around. Don't waste any time waiting for Pfizer.
She was dead within a day of diagnosis. Anyone who is delaying getting vaccinated or won't get vaccinated is absolutely insane.

Agree and the more they push people from outdoors, they move indoors. yes beach looks crazy or parks. Dan will get angry close them. Then the same people move to meet indoors. Promote outdoors unless they can clearly demostate this is a direct casue of transmission
Yeh, we are moving into warmer weather which means people will want to be outdoors. And should be outdoors.

We need to have proper discussions about what is and isn't safe. A bit like sex education. Stop treating people like infants. Educate and inform.

Yep absolutely tragic.

Don't ever forget at 120 cases just under 6 weeks ago, Gladys called this a National Emergency.
About the only thing she's got right in months.:cry:
