Coronavirus

I wonder if Jeff Kennett, Dim Tim, Credlin, Mitchell, Bolt, etc, are eating humble pie today with the realisation that Andrews got it right all along when it comes to locking down?
Andrews *smile* it comprehensively. Didn't lock down until 164 cases on July 7. Condemned us to many extra weeks of home detention.

NSW had that experience to draw on and has no excuse.

Here is an article where The Health Department said interviews with the trio of removalists are proving difficult

What is wrong with these people, sounds like they are not being honest with contact tracers.

I also frequent a couple of other forums, on one of them was this lengthy quote:

Sky News host James Morrow says "it has become apparent" NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has not only "lost control of this outbreak, but that she is losing control of her government".

"Premier Gladys Berejiklian has tightened the screws again today on millions of Sydneysiders because of 29 new coronavirus cases that were discovered to have spent some time infectious in the community," he said.

"While she hasn't yet gone the full Dan Andrews or started welding us into our homes Wuhan style – yet – it is increasingly apparent that not only has she lost control of this outbreak but that she is losing control of her government.

"We no longer have a public health system that is serving the people. Instead, we the people, are expected to serve unelected public health bureaucrats like Kerry Chant.

"This is a dictatorship of health that has been building in this country for years if not decades, and which has finally found its full expression in the pandemic."

Mr Morrow said the rest of the world was learning to live with the virus, but Australia was "still behaving like it was the 19th month of 2020".

"We have learned nothing about how to fight Covid, save for lockdowns and heavy-handed policing in a quest for zero cases that is doomed to fail," he said.

FFS what a moron.

A dictatorship of health building for decades? Really? Does anyone really take this s*** seriously?

What surprises me more than the complete lack of any understanding, any intelligence or any semblance of concern for anyone other than themselves, is that people actually pay for this s***. It's Fox, you don't get it for free, you have to pay. I can find better quality conspiracy idiocy online for nothing, why pay for this s***?

The bias is so obvious - why is lockdown the only defence against the outbreak Gladys has at her disposal? Why are other countries able to live with COVID? Geez, do you think maybe it has something to do with the fact that we have the lowest vaccination rate in the OECD while the countries which are opening up have a good proportion of their population vaccinated? Maybe that has something to do with the incompetence of those who were meant to get the vaccine, ie: the Federal Lib/Nat coalition government.

Now an additional support package for NSW businesses announced by the Feds in week 3. What a surprise..
I have no issue with the support but Victorians will never forget that Morrison & Frydenberg intially refused ANY financial support for the first week of lockdown in Victoria by comparison & had to be dragged kicking & screaming into the second week.
Yet we managed to contain the spread of the Delta virus by locking down so early & were on top of it quickly. Short term pain for long term gain.
By comparison Golden Gladys has taken her sweet time on locking things down & Australian taxpayers will now be slumped with even more debt potentially for months?
Who is going to foot the bill for that? Your great grand children that's who.
As we've seen with the numerous rorts, Morrison always looks after his own electorates. He does not Govern for all Australians.

3 cases in VIC (1 is categorised as "from interstate" but goes into the community transmission stats). all 3 in Iso during infectious period. probably the best we could have hoped for so far. but that apartment complex is a massive worry.

we weren't as knowledgeable in terms of dealing with it 12 months ago as we are now. fact.

I have seen it reported that the 3 cases in Hume returned from the Sydney red zone but have been in isolation since returning. I have also seen it reporting that the exposure sites in Craigieburn are linked to those 3 case.

So which one is it? Were they isolating or did they just pop down to Coles for some some supplies when they should have been isolating? I think we know the answer. The virus didn't hop on a *smile* bus on its own and travel to Coles  It appears you can get these red zone permits in a packet of Corn Flakes.

Oh and there seems little doubt that these Sydney removalists have been bullshitting the authorities about their movements. We will be very lucky if we get out of this without another lockdown.

*smile* Sydney hey? Too important for a proper lockdown.......................

good news so far for Vic...but the day is young.

Hopefully its just those 3 and thats it.

One did go shopping though didnt they

There will be more. What we have learned from Sydney is that when 1 member of a household gets it, they all will. Its my understanding there are 4 members of both households in Whittlesea and Maribyrnong.

But the key to this are their movements after July 8. We know the Whittlesea household have been in Iso the whole time because they flew in form Sydney last week.

We also know the moving truck left for SA on July 8 and crossed the border in the early hours of July 9.

But what we don’t know are the movements of the moving truck prior to July 8. And The movements of the Maribyrnong family over the weekend. We only know that one of them went to Coles in Craigieburn over the weekend.

1400 people from Sydney red zones returned to Victoria yesterday; 1400!! Can anyone shed any light on this? I can't believe so many people are seeking to return to Victoria from the red zones? WTF are they doing up there? Surely they didn't go up there on holidays; this outbreak commenced in mid June so no one should have gone to the red zones from that date. And Sydney has been in (supposed) lockdown since 26th June so why would you even consider going since that date. I had a holiday planned for last week and obviously cancelled.

Are these people expat Vics who have all of sudden decided they want to return to Vic due to a Sydney lockdown? I really don't understand these numbers. Or are there 1400 essential workers that cross the border everyday???

Its choices isn't it Riddles? We cancelled a holiday because of the risks. Cancelled christmas in NSW last year also. Some people just don't give a *smile*.

Yes it is mate. What I don't get is that why anyone would want to go to a locked down red zone anyway? It's bizarre. IMO if people left Vic to travel to Sydney red zones after mid June, without a very good reason, then they can stay there until NSW has it under control.

Maybe they have very good reasons? But I can't see how 1400 people every day can have very good reasons.

covid in Goulburn now too.
Getting closer to VIC.
Exactly what I was saying on Sunday. You’re naive to not think the virus has spread beyond the Greater Sydney hotspot and into regional areas. And in turn, why I was saying we needed a border closure on Sunday.
