Sorry Al, but you are easily fooled. Where we come last is when we compare to developed countries ie the group of 21. Comparing us to countries of "similar populations" means we will be compared to a bunch of developing countries mostly. We are ahead of 66 countries? Big pharkin woop. There are 190 or so countries in the world, most poor and developing.

Compare us to Indonesia - a poor country of 300 million people on 300 major islands. They have fully vaccinated 4.7% of their population - the same rate as us, 30 million people in a wealthy country. We are ahead on first doses if you want to take bragging rights over Indonesia.

No matter how you spin that, that is a sh1t state of affairs.

Why should developed countries be ahead of poor ones? Got to let us rich pricks get back on our travels to Mozambique or Malabar but a villager in Sumatra can wait in line? That's not a terribly global perspective for a humanitarian like you AA.

agree, but the bad news is that every day, only half the cases in Sydney are actually isolating, with the rest apparently out and about.

Again today, 24 cases with only half having been isolating.

I don't think they know what Stay At Home means up there...

Hope cases start dropping soon
Yes but they aren't spiking as so many predicted.

Hang on. Slo-Mo is announcing a new plan. Actually, I'm not sure if he had a plan to begin with so it probably can't be new.

Anyway, it seems to be based around having the country vaccinated. This bloke is sharp. Very sharp.

"I've always said vaccination was the key to this. No, no, Andrew, no, no. I did. Well, that's your narrative. No, I don't accept that. I've always said vaccination was the key. It is a race, and we are at the front of the queue. I can't be any clearer than that."

SloMo - “We get this done, Australia, and you can see what is on the other side. We made it very clear today what’s on the other side. You get vaccinated, and we get there, and this all changes.”

hello @LeeToRainesToRoach - did you get the memo from your great and fearless leader this time? Vaccination is no longer low priority. In fact, SloMo says it was always a high priority.

Lets hope we dont hear differently from States at their next press conferences.

Hopefully, Feds & States can put their differences aside, political crap of blameshifting as well, sniping with at times false facts and all get on with it for the population sake.

It was pleasing to hear what was said today. A good compromise re number coming for States too.

Lets hope all are on the same page. Sick of lockdowns, lies & blameshifting. Yeah acceptance there will be errors but to manage it.

Get vaxxed is the message. Great.

Also loved that only 7 day quarantine for a fully vaxxed person.

Helps those coming in on compassionate ground we've heard lately.

It would be good but let's not forget just how aggressive the Feds were against the States they didn't like. #ScoMo even tried to take WA to Court over the closing of their Borders.

Forgot about that but do recall it.
