They just passed an economic aid package essentially to provide resources for the most vulnerable people. 40 of them votes against it.

One of the most senior republicans has called on people to keep going to pubs and restaurants in numbers to support businesses at the same time the health officials were calling on the opposite.

I am more worried about the US in this pandemic than just about anywhere else. I think it will get nasty over there

how else are you supposed to stop someone pinching your dunny roll? especially if you get caught with your pants down.

Victoria declares state of Emergency for at least the next 4 weeks.

I wrote yesterday I think,

that socially, this thing will amplify peoples nastiness and niceness.

true colours will be nailed to the mast. shining through, like a rainbow (or in the minority of cases, like a smear of *smile* on a rag)

So, how's the report of Trump trying to buy exclusive access to the frontrunner German vaccine company?

That bloke will firmly write himself into the chapter on complete *smile* in the history books in the next couple of months.

America is definitely the biggest worry in my opinion. They're nutjobs who hate looking after the vulnerable in society to protect their so called liberties.

No way they will contain it, especially with their doofus of a Pres providing so much misinformation about it earlier days. Criminal negligence

I think you are definitely starting to see some social breakdown and I suspect you will see it far greater in the US. People are certainly going to die just doing their grocery shopping. Where people in Sydney are caught fighting in Woolies, amplify that with a gun in Walmart.

Its interesting seeing the differences in certain countries, some countries like France seeing less panic buying. People there still remember the rationing that went on in the war, everyone is in the same boat etc. That's why I'm especially disappointed in my homeland (UK), same scenario but many seem to have forgotten this and just decided to be selfish, and I see the same impact currently in Australia, its very sad to see.

Detail is light right now.
However I guess it's to do with limiting crowd sizes..

and absolutely anything else required to stem the influence of this virus.

I think the State of Emergency is more around the ability to open up funds that are ring fenced for national emergencies. It also enables them to legislate things that normally they cannot. When my daughter heard that on the radio this morning, her face dropped but I explained that its political language that enables them to get funds that are normally for national disasters and not to worry, nothing has changed in her life. I'm trying to explain it all to her, she is on social media so my philosophy is be honest and debunk myths she has heard. The 1st she said to me was that dogs can get corona, which I said there is no proof to that and there also are no testing kits that will be being used on dogs, so not to worry about the hearsay. She's not worried at this stage, and is actually excited about the chance of getting and extra 2 weeks of school holidays :D

kept the kids home from school today. Regretting the decision now.

from the Guardian. is it just me, or is the DCMO saying if it looks and swims and quacks like a duck, it may be an emu?

please correct me if im wrong, but with the information offered here, either 1. Dutton caught it on the plane off the women on the plane 2. he had it, got on the plane and gave it to the 2 women sitting nearby, or 3. its an
extraordinary coincidence whereby 3 people randomly got on a plane infected and sat near each other?

shouldn't a DCMO be able to solve this riddle through relatively simple deduction and reduction?

Peter Dutton was “not infectious on the plane” with coronavirus while returning from the US, Kelly says.

“I spoke to Mr Dutton in his hospital room on Friday night and I’m not going to go into the details of his particular illness but I can say he was not infectious on the plane,” the deputy chief medical officer said.

“Whether he caught it on the plane or before that it’s hard to know. The incubation for this particular virus is quite long. It can be up to 14 days. He had been back in Australia for six days by the time he became sick.”

However, earlier today, two women who sat near Dutton on the plane have tested positive for coronavirus. Last week, Kelly also advised the prime minister, Scott Morrison, that he did not need to be tested for the virus, as he had not met Dutton in person in the 24 hours before he developed symptoms.

If you watched Insiders you can see the CMO is now just defending what the Government want to do.

No faith in him at all.
