Wouldn’t have thought so. Any anti vax individuals would be most likely Green’s voters who are in the pockets of socialist left public servants who refuse to even work in the CBD. Perhaps you can have a word to them?
BTW I’m booked in for next week to have my jab on the first day available to me. Anyone over 40 should be booked in. Time to get us ahead of the curve compared to the rest of the other states.
Taking the budget estimate on the re-opening is laughable. This is the same budget that the doesn't have the 600m for the gas fired plant that the government announced a couple of days later.
This government takes it's lead from opinion polls and it's donors. As soon as people see the rest of the world has opened and economies and working again, when we're still locked, there will be a massive groundswell and #ScoMoTheSaviour well declare borders open.
For someone that was so terrified of the virus and it's devastating potential, it's surprising that you're holding off getting vaccinated. Each to their own, but you must be thankful for these lockdowns because they are in place to protect people who aren't vaccinated yet.

Not at all. Anti-vaxxers these days are more of a Libertarian persuasion than anything else. The new wave Covid Anti-Vaxxers are predominantly right wing MAGA types.
But fair to say regardless of their political leanings, Anti-Vaxxers are all *smile*.
Generalisations, but Greens tend to be educated and science driven.
As Baloo says, you are probably thinking of New Age /Wellness/ Truth Seekers. These people used to be the 9/11 conspiracy theorists, now they are all anti science, antipharma, antiwindfarm, antivax. They also see climate change as a hoax to promote more government control. There is a strong anti-government/ libertarian "sovereign citizen" thread as well so overlaps with the Trumpists and far right. See Pete Evans as a classic example.
End of the day they are all freakin nutbags basically.

SHY last year stated in an interview that the Greens needed to do more to challenge the anti vax movement as the lowest immunisation areas are where their votes are the highest. Melbourne CBD, Adelaide Hills and Byron Bay were used as an example.
I agree that many right wing nut jobs are not going to get the vaccine. But the way I look at in a very similar way to the vote on marriage equality. Someone who identified as a Christian was more likely to vote yes to equality than someone who identified as Muslim. This was clearly reflected in Sydney.
That is true, but like any trend, movement or ideology there are strong themes. The left are generally stronger on evidence-based policy, the right are more into populism and increasingly, anti-experts and science. But of course there would be indivuals within both parties who defy that trend. For example, the coalition are chockers full of climate-change denying anti book-learnin' hillbillies. There might be 1 or 2 in the ALP, but I'm not aware of any.
Of course this Morrison Government hasn't announced any financial relief for Victoria despite their failings. They hate Victoria.

If you get vaccinated, you win immunity from a disease that can kill you, can destroy your kidneys or thyroid or grow black fungus on your brain.
I wonder, over the years, how many Australians have stood on a rusty nail, or sliced themselves open on a bit of tin,
and had a few stitches in emergency, and they give you a tetanus shot (would have to be 90% of us wouldnt it?)

That article is from two months ago, and a lot of it is less relevant with new information. E.g. It now looks like immunity will be long term, it appears vaccines like the Pfizer and Moderna ones protect well against variants and can be adjusted relatively simply for better protection, and these vaccines also do seem to be very effective at preventing transmission.
Having said that, herd immunity for the globe is still going to be extremely difficult to nearly impossible. But for a country like ours, the only real roadblock is supply and hesitancy.
