Coronavirus

2 weeks training and then given a gun. The entire industry is a joke.
It is. But who made the decision to place the most critical component of our defence against this virus in their hands? If it turns out there is cronyism involved here there should be criminal charges.

The greatest source of infection appears to have been given lip service by the health department. Can't wait for another lecture from Dan how we have to do better.

Hopefully most new cases are isolated to existing areas of infection.

Rumour is near on, or 500 + past 24hrs .... 5km max travel. Hope I'm off the mark:confused:
Have to close schools if the KM restriction enforced, my daughter doing VCE, year 12, school is 8.5 km's from home. I drop her off on the way to work, 13 KM's from home. I am apparently in an essential occupation, and can't work from home, due to covering others considered high risk.

We’re being killed by our own weak laws. Distrust of government is OK, almost healthy, but people are being given far too much scope to defy restrictions. Too many dissidents encouraging public disobedience. If it’s left to the public to do the right thing, we’re doomed.

You need to govern, Dan.

As with the cruise liner fiasco, they will leave no stone unturned until the appropriate scapegoat is found

It seems to me that a major issue is largely due to the way the gig economy has been allowed to become so prevalent in some vital sectors.

looking for some positives in these big numbers, you would think that these aren't just from yesterdays testing.
There seems to be around a weeks delay in getting results, so probably from last week.
They wouldn't be from the same day either, different labs would have their own backlogs, so daily results are probably from various (overlapping) days of testing.

I reckon another week at least before we start seeing any effects of Level 3 (if any).

Idiots like this don't help one bit:

Yes I think potentially what we're seeing now is the results coming in from what happened on the cusp of stage 3 restrictions being reinstated.

Andrews has just released figures that show 53% of people who get tested are not isolating until they get the test result. Unbelievable. No wonder we are where we are

This is driving the current numbers. *smile* selfish arseholes :mad::mad:

Was waiting for this to be blamed. Pretty soon it will be scomos fault.

It's part of the insidiousness of the virus. If you don't feel sick and don't think you've got it, it runs contrary to human nature to lock yourself away. Of course if you've got symptoms and voluntarily sought a test, then refused to isolate...

Unfortunately I don't think some will fully comprehend the danger until we're getting smashed and people they know are affected. I've made more phone calls in the last four months than I'd normally make in two years and am still yet to hear of anyone I know who has it.

University dropout says wearing masks is not backed up by the science.
Seriously Bolt is a divisive *smile*.

Victorian Premier Dan Andrews is responsible for the disastrous outbreak of the coronavirus which is nothing more than a mild case of the flu, Sky News host Andrew Bolt says.

Bolt said the impact of the virus had been wildly exaggerated, adding that the Premier hadn’t done nearly enough to contain it.

The statement was part of a list of talking points circulated at Sky News, which outlines the network’s position on the coronavirus outbreak in Victoria. The talking points include:

  • Dan Andrews is responsible for the COVID-19 virus which doesn’t exist
  • Dan Andrews kept the economy closed for too long and opened it up too early
  • Outsourcing to private enterprise is always preferable and Dan Andrews never should have outsourced to a private security firm
  • Individuals should take personal responsibility and we can’t believe the government hasn’t fixed the coronavirus for us
  • Wearing a face mask – which Andrews should have made mandatory weeks ago – is a breach of human rights

Total Cases: 6739
Active Cases: 3408 (up 330).

24,726 tests (1,385,964 Total)

NSW
New Cases: 15

Active Cases: 110 (up 14).
0 deaths (51 Total). Note: NSW Government website says 51 deaths, other sites say 49.
18,465 tests (1,236,620 Total)

Andrews and Sutton both spoke well. The last thing they want to do is go to stage 4. Imploring people to do the right thing in regards to getting tested and then isolating whilst waiting. Massive challenges in managing this but appear to be doing there best.

Hopefully people do the right thing.
