Coronavirus

We are not allowed to speak of coincidences on this site or thread because....... the closed border states also have the lowest death rates and infections .....oh *smile* i just did it again. Well done WA, SA, Guam and Hawaii.
Got to love a coincidence.

Its the miracle that Donald Trump foretold!!!

Yep, HR is right. Trump is killing it!

Suggestions on twitter that McKenna has tested positive. Would just have to be Essendon.

And the bummers just flew to Sydney on the same flight as the roos. Although connor didn't play he would have had close contact with his teammates at the club.

Would be good to know if he was tested upon his return, or if he at least isolated for 14 days

Imagine for a second that Victoria was green and SA blue. I wouldn't want those diseased Adelaide bastards in our state.

Protests were June 6 - no cases on the day and low numbers for the next few days. You can't convince me the spike isn't protest-related.

Big V, indeed.

Seems like we’ve really dropped the ball in Victoria after just about having it under control. People have just gotten too complacent.

Very disappointing.

Credit for Dan retracting?

Cancelling the easing of restrictions? I think it's the most prudent thing to do, and it won't be popular. It's taken a little courage. If only he'd been as firm in discouraging the protests.

Not sure that mass public disobedience won't ensue.

I meant that the credit he had received for controlling the spread in Victoria would be disappating as Victoria becomes the worst performing state.

The protest going ahead was as selfish as it gets. Sorry but anyone who attended needs a good hard look at themselves.
As said before the virus is NOT political. It was just dumb in a pandemic to hold a mass gathering whatever the cause.

That said it's been said that most of the P2P infections have been family members.
It's human nature to want to be close to the people you love & once restrictions were lifted unfortunately people naturally want to be closer together.

This virus is a bloody nightmare.

No doubt. I was disappointed that we didn’t lock down harder for a shorter period. The situation has been loosely controlled and allowed to meander, with predictable results. Hopefully they can put the clamps on it before it gets out of hand.

One of the new cases is linked to H&M store at Northland. This is the store where one of the BLM protesters that tested positive works. She went to work after the protest and subsequently tested positive.

From afar it seemed like Vic got ahead of itself. Segments of the population ranting about needing to return to normality. Sam Newman and his ilk staging protests to play golf, pressure from the AFL to allow the season to kick off. Not taking a harder stance against the Anti-Vaxxer and BML protesters.

You reap what you sow

I wonder if we are in worse shape because we had the most restrictive government, and then people have acted out with over excitement by failing to respect social distancing.

If we wanted to be the toughest we must see it through with fines for the protests. Otherwise we should have followed other states by allowing picnics, fishing, golf all under social distancing.

The way I look at it we have just been on the strictest diet and just binged the hardest and now have the scales not in our favour compared to the rest of the country.
