Yep, NZ governments and Aus Governments doing well, considering the circumstances. And I include all state governments in that too. yes mistakes have been made but this is a tough tough situation, so mistakes will be made. ScoMo is doing OK from what I can tell from overseas.

Our fat orange friend over in the US, not so much.

Morrisons improvement trajectory is like Kane Lambert's.

He just gets better and better.

I have a little bit of vomit to deal with in my mouth as I write this,

but he was outstanding on 7.30 tonight.

clear, rationale, non-adversarial, humble, smart.

I reckon he has a normal advisor who has said 'watch what trump does and do the opposite'

e.g. Trump tweets about state governors mutiny .. 'im the captain of this ship'

Morrison on 7.30 'Andrews and Berejchickenlian are doing a great job. If you live in NSW, listen to Gladys. if you live in Vic, listen to Daniel. They are all over this'

I dont believe in god, but I am going to say a prayer tonight that I dont wake up barracking for Carlton.
Who are you and what have you done with the real ezy? :mhihi

I think Morrison and the State leaders are all doing a pretty good job.
I would like to see the JobKeeper package available to more casuals workers than what it is though.
The requirement for a casual employee to have worked for the same company for the last 12 months is not fair and needs to be re-visited.
If a casual worker can prove that they have been in, or close to continuous employment for 12 months they should be eligible.
They may have been moved on in their previous job, or left for a better job, and to not qualify for the JobSeeker is unfair.

?? Americans elected Ronald Reagan , imagine what that twit would have tweeted if twitter was around back then
Not much difference between he and Trump actually, both B grade actors! That film The Three Amigoes is a classic example of how easy it is for some people to think actors can be real life heroes...still happening today. Vivid memories of my young boys absolutely splitting their sides in the Lorne theatre when they first saw that film. :D

Thats about right for me too.

Yeah he ballsed up the Bushfires so bad, he’s lucky he got another go to manage through a crisis. Not perfect but intent has been good. More we than me. Daniel Andrews still the big star for me, has the PR game perfected.

The US have 30k new cases and 2.5k deaths in one day and they're talking about re opening the country where as we get 40 new cases and lockdown is extended by another 4 weeks.

To be fair, he is taking about reopening the country, not they.

Trump and the US are so dangerous. Looking at coming out of isolation by the end of this month. Their cases are still not falling!!

Contrast that to Australia, still got less than 70 deaths, cases been continuing to drop and down to less than 50 new ones per day and we will wait another month as we don't want renewed outbreaks.

If the US really do this, expect another mass outbreak there in a months time.

Yep, that's if it hasn't happened already. The Johns Hopkins site now has a US map and all across the middle of the country has a much lower rate of infection, one wonders if it is a result of a lower rate of testing in a lot of regions. The response in the USA is a real worry, I reckon they are behind in testing and there are a lot more cases there and if they open things up it will be shocking.

L2R2R do you really want to bring up climate change here and then claim it is so-called? Now, you are the one who has brought it up so I'll just continue to point out that you are going with imperfect modelling, science which is still working out exactly what is going on, etc with COVID-19, but challenge every little thing in relation to climate change. Either you accept that science does not have the complete story and we need to go by the best information available (which is better for climate change than for COVID19 just because it has been studied for a lot longer) or you cherry pick which science to accept. You might want to reflect on the fact that the IPCC is also hamstrung by the politics of so many countries in the UN, powerful countries, who want to keep making money out of fossil fuels, or just further their own interests.

No I don't wish to debate it in depth, I was merely tying it in with WHO. "So-called" referred to the "emergency" which isn't so urgent that China is required to change in anything but its own good time.
we need to go by the best information available (which is better for climate change than for COVID19)

The data is better but the mechanisms are infinitely more complex, e.g. Fagan has pretty good data on Richmond but can't for the life of him understand how we keep beating them.

Meh his government is still the most corrupt we've ever had. He's still a hypocrite over sending kids to school.

You do understand that is under medical advice? And that ultimately it is a state responsibility?

Daniel Andrews still the big star for me, has the PR game perfected.

To the rest of Aust VIC is known as the nanny state.

No sure about his PR game being perfected, we ridiculously have no golf, no fishing despite being activities where social distancing is simply complied with and the health and well being benefits are huge. Particularly amongst the older generation.

The real worrying thing for me in the US is they have previously undersold their mortality and infection rates.

Yesterday New York State changed their reporting of deaths to include another category, probable deaths. Increased by 3k deaths!! Apparantly that's the increase in deaths at home over and above the normal for that time period. That's a very worrying stat and indicative IMO of their healthcare system. The poorer people who may not have health insurance, maybe are not going to hospital for treatment or testing. Whilst it has been stated that testing is free even if they do not have health insurance, treatment is not and therefore the US are still making people choose effectively now over their life or money. Crazy and such an immoral position to have to put people into.

Imagine if they get a mass outbreak throughout somewhere poorer than New York State (and I understand they have poorer areas in NYC such as the Bronx etc) such as Detroit etc. How many people will not go to hospital and will die in their homes. I wonder if the other states will follow New York state in reporting probable deaths.
