Yesterday New York State changed their reporting of deaths to include another category, probable deaths. Increased by 3k deaths!! Apparantly that's the increase in deaths at home over and above the normal for that time period. That's a very worrying stat and indicative IMO of their healthcare system. The poorer people who may not have health insurance, maybe are not going to hospital for treatment or testing. Whilst it has been stated that testing is free even if they do not have health insurance, treatment is not and therefore the US are still making people choose effectively now over their life or money. Crazy and such an immoral position to have to put people into.
Imagine if they get a mass outbreak throughout somewhere poorer than New York State (and I understand they have poorer areas in NYC such as the Bronx etc) such as Detroit etc. How many people will not go to hospital and will die in their homes. I wonder if the other states will follow New York state in reporting probable deaths.
