Coronavirus

I understand frustrations of people waiting for tests but what I don’t understand is how anyone could think we could ever keep up with the testing when we have 5000 cases a day and heading for more?
We have never had anywhere near this level so do some expect that hospitals, testing centres and pathology labs should have had staff and equipment lying idle for the last 20 months just in case it happened ?
Relaxation of testing requirements and use of RATs is the only logical response to get PCR testing back to a manageable level.

People are selfish and retarrded. Covid didn't teach us this but it continually hammers the point.

Those RAT tests, anyone who has had a covid test could tell you that step 1 is "stick a cotton bud up your nose until it tickles your brain".

The rapid antigen test I have doesn't require it. It requires several deep coughs then spitting into a tube.

Yay. Hocking up loobeys sounds way more fun than poking a stick up the honk.

Another failure by government (feds and state):
Australian (Brisbane- tax payer funded) manufactured RAT kits can’t be used here until mid 2022, so being shipped to US - 100,000 per day, soon to be ramped up to 200,000
A Melbourne based company made submissions in mid 2020 for local manufacturing of RAT kits, but they weren’t deemed high priority by the gov…

Nice summary on ABC News about Covid. One thing that struck me was Mary Louise McClaws stating that WHO had accepted that the virus was airborne by February 2020 but in March 2020 Brendan Murphy was still advising against wearing masks. Says a lot about our national leadership on covid which is still pretty poor with Dr Nick making a goose of himself regularly.

So an expert is saying the return to school date should be put back to allow kids time to get vaccinated can anyone tell me then why the 5-11 old vaccination doesn't start till the 10th of Jan when ATAGI approved on the 10th of Dec:unsure:

Wasn't it a case that there weren't enough masks available for the general population so the call came to give frontline workers priority?

So the last of the legitimate daily Covid numbers are in with NSW 21,151 and VIC 5,919,

"legitimate" is very pertinent.

The wealth of the country, instead of the health of the country came into force on 15/12/2021.

"New South Wales has reached the last stage of its roadmap out of COVID-19 restrictions today, despite recording a surge in Omicron variant cases just yesterday."

Why is it the last legitimate daily numbers?
Well they have basically told most people NOT to come forward for a PCR test so thousands of close contact cases previously picked up in the testing net now won't so the figures become even more irrelevant and understated.
I suppose even now the only numbers that really matter are hospitalizations.

I cant believe a cartoonist hasnt done hazard navigating off a roadmap directing spider perotet off a cliff.

Why is everything a roadmap?

We dont even use roadmaps on roads anymore.

Somebody probably forgot to place the order.

My daughter was booked for the 18th Jan. The booking got cancelled, because the vaccine won't be there.

Regardless of ATAGI approval on the 10th December, surely you pre-order in advance. Even if it didn't get approved, what would have been lost?

I saw a smug, arrogant prick on the TV a while back, he was wearing a baseball cap. Correctly, he said, that his country was only recording large numbers of positive results, due to high numbers of testing.

Simply said, stop testing and the problem will go away.

NSW were predicting 25,000 per day by mid January. They’re gonna blow that timeline completely out of the water.

763 in hospital. How many can they absorb into their healthcare system ? What’s the max number before any implosion occurs ?

Remembering deaths & serious illness trail generally by 2-3 weeks..
What type of incoming tsunami are health services looking at?
We've stopped testing cause it's out of control. How long til Hospitals can't cope?

had about 1300 in hospital in September Delta.

but I'd imagine we'll be 100,000 daily by the end of next week (it seems to me that everyone has largely surrendered?)

I dunno if its linear, but if it was, that'd be 3000 in hospital,

and without knowing what the meltdown point is,

I know I would not want to be a medico.
