Coronavirus grand final.

A lot of this **** I dont buy.

Read some of the eye witness accounts of what's happening in Northern Italy. That's what we're trying to prevent.

For all the feel good videos of Italians singing from their balconies, most people are under enormous stress and are struggling mentally, let alone financially.

I spoke to a couple of cousins I have there. The biggest fear is for their parents/my uncles and aunts, who are at an age where the hospitals would de-prioritise them if they caught it. Thankfully none have yet, but they all know people from their towns who are currently caught up in the *smile* and in hospital, and some who have already died.

So strange this whole thing. Why are we banning people going to the footy, but still letting people in from overseas where there is more infection.
Why if its so contagiuos, has the arsenal coach tested positive, but none of his players have? Same with Dutton (silly ****** prick) and all the people he would have come in contact with?

Replication factor of 2, so one infected person infects about two others. Just because you are in contact with an infected person doesn't mean you become infected.

But through the magic of maths, that replication of two means the virus spreads pretty quickly through a population, depending on systemic and personal responses.

14 day asymptomatic incubation period too.

But it really hasnt been that quick. And why allow international planes land if its such a big deal?

im a reformed skeptic kyuss.

I think its about

1. protecting both the old and infirm (which can includes a 40 year old black fella with *smile* kidneys whose never done anyone any harm, or a 3 year old kid with cystic fibrosis) and

2. preventing a kind of health system armegeddon. Doctors and and nurses, who by and large are kind hearted, valuable members of society, from having physical and nervous breakdowns like you expect in a pop hospital in the trenches of Gallipoli.

I agree completely its very strange and I have a lot of cognitive dissonance.

but ive come to the point that The government will remain a bunch of useless fuckeheads and continue to *smile* things up,

but if we act sensibly and with good intent, in a neighbourly fashion,

we will be OK.

even better for it.

How do you define "quick"?

How do you define "quick"?

I guess i don't know. I just thought something that has effected absolutely everything would have spread a lot quicker than it has. Dont get me wrong 4 elderly people dying is horrible, but im pretty sure if you looked at the same period of time in any other time period youd find the same amount if not more elderly citizens dying of a cold, flu, pnumonia ect.

I dont want to argue with anyone about this cos to be honest I know sweet FA about it, Its just to me the way the world has reacted seems crazy.

Yeah, it's crazy times. Are we doing too much or too little?

We're taking what I believe is sensible and orderly precautions to avoid the worst case scenario. I'm not an expert so I'll listen to the people who are.

Maybe the best solution is to isolate all over 65's and let everyone else continue our way of life. The stats seem to suggest that building up herd immunity might be the best solution for those under the age of 65, but the issue with that is the transmission into the older population who are most at risk, so if we are going to isolate, maybe its bets to isolate those most at risk and allow others to get it and allow their bodies to build up immunity.

Agree. strange times. It seems like were doing too much and too little. I would have thought isolating the country as NZ have done would be the obvious first step before banning mass gatherings.
Again I know very little about the disease. The response just feels wrong.

Well...as of midnight tonight all international arrivals will be forced into 14 days quarantine/isolation.

im into being pretty honest.

and I dont really fear for myself, or for people over 80 dying (I Have folks over 80. I obviously hope they make 100, but they are OK to go and its their life)

my fear is

1. for compromised people under say 50. nice people whose kidneys are *smile* or have diabetes etc.

2. health professionals (I dont think im very courageous. I think if I was in a futile war, Id run the other way or if I was a doctor or a nurse, id be doing a career change tomorrow - maybe if It was in a decent revolution, id be at the front of the charge? I cant say. I certainly exhibit some courageous characteristics in a betting ring)

3. civil behaviour from humans in crisis.

I think the only thing WE can control at this point is No.3.

do everything you can to be a good person.

go above and beyond.

This is by far the most important point.
We are experiencing something which is unprecedented and frightening.
The vast majority of the population have never experienced a real crisis or a breakdown of social order.
No doubt the next 6 months will test people's resolve and humanity.

yep.

and the approach is really simple, especially for Richmond supporters with an intimate understanding of The Richmond Man.

we can pay back the premierships with a community leadership role.

A Tiger Army, trained and honed for 40 years, mobilised

be kind. ask people if they need help. ring your folks and siblings and neighbours. share stuff

be human

tell collingwood supporters to get *smile*

We wouldn’t have this issue if we had guns!

I know that's said in jest, but with the US starting to breakout, the timeline for the 1st person murdered over toilet paper is narrowing. We've had punch-ups etc in woollies, the breakdown in the US could be devastating as they will flock to their guns IMO.

any mother *smile* is unkind to my crew or tries to steal my pumpkins, say hello to 8 ball bearings at 1000m/s!

* note: if you a are inclined toward pumpkin theft, rather than cultivation, in the vicinity of Byron Bay, wear a Richmond jumper for protection
