Coronavirus grand final.

What do people think of this? Turns it into a different sport for mine. Best to wait until it's appropriate for sport to resume.

I don't think there is a right or wrong answer to any of this. There is so much uncertainty about the trajectory of this pandemic, which
makes decision making difficult.
If public health measures over the next 3-4 weeks succeed in flattening the curve of infections, then we might enjoy some semblance
of a normal footy season by June/July.
Very strange times indeed.

Think one of the footy journos today was saying the AFL are being advised by the experts they're the 2 months we're most likely to be postponing the comp.... hope not.

I did hear that earlier in the week as well. That must be the main deciding factor as to why the AFL have suggested front loading the fixture now.

Great to see the most important stakeholders in the game are being protected!

Btw... glad we still have Alex on the list..... might be able to put the squeeze on him at some point.

Regardless of who wins, or is awarded the premiership this year, people will always put an asterisk on it.

I reckon you'de want to in the Top 4 in June.

The only thing we can be sure of in this crazy world is The AFL will *smile* this up somehow.

I can see them calling a snap final series mid year and getting it over with.

they could even just play a grand final between 1st and 2nd at a weeks notice

being pragmatic, I'll adapt and won't really care how the premiership is decided, as long as we win it

I think we need to ride this race differently to the last couple of years, obviously

Already got my 1000 rolls of toilet paper last week.

you should be able to trade seven.

in previous crisis (spain flu, Great Depression, world war rationing), the exchange rate

was 100 rolls to a bottle of rum

or 50 rolls to a kg of meat.

prices are relative so imagine a similar exchange rate

Im surprised people aren't knocking on mormon and JW doors asking for the free bibles.

they make exceptional toilet and cigarette paper and their value will skyrocket.

rightly or wrongly,

I'll be really upset if

1. we get robbed of a year of watching Dusty at the absolute height of his powers, and

2. If Marlion Pickett loses a chuck of his small window of opportunity to bring us joy and make some coin for his mob.

I know people will die and people will lose jobs and have no money,

But I'll still be really upset by a seriously affected footy season.

if I cant be honest about my feelings here, where can I be honest?

(at least I didn't stockpile dunny paper.)

You can be rightfully pissed off about this while recognising other things are equally/more important. I'm pissed off too.

So this is what totalitarianism feels like....

More importantly, a shortened season impacts Marlions opportunity to play 100 games, thus putting his boys off limits under father/son.

a point of clarification. Im not pissed off.

im upset.

as a society, we are going to have to override being pissed off these next few months.

but I think its ok to be upset. when I say 'robbed' of the opportunity to see Marlion or Dusty, I dont mean robbed by the government or Gil, I mean robbed by a microscopic spike ball.

For example; Ive had a long planned family reunion trip to NZ cancelled. Im not pissed off - I totally get it and its for the good of NZ'ers. Im sad I dont get to see my family. I think theres a big difference.

If this thing gets worse and footy gets cancelled, I reckon we devise a cyber footy competition somehow where we can gather on a Friday night and pretend theres a footy game on in a world without Gil

So strange this whole thing. Why are we banning people going to the footy, but still letting people in from overseas where there is more infection.
Why if its so contagiuos, has the arsenal coach tested positive, but none of his players have? Same with Dutton (silly *smile* prick) and all the people he would have come in contact with?
A lot of this *smile* I dont buy.
