Grollos and the unions have been battling since the old John Halfpenny days. There's nothing like going on strike midway through a concrete pour to get the bosses attention.

Years ago I used to sell bricks to the Grollos for their residential stuff. They threw great xmas parties. artyfest

I spoke with someone "in the know" within the building industry over the weekend.

Before this "cold war" between the Grollos and the Building Union, Grocon had an exemplary record in OHS.

Since this war began, a number of "accidents" have suddenly occurred on Grocon sites. It was only a fortnight or so ago that a workman fell from a lift to his death, with others before, now this!

Old rule of thumb,
One accident is unfortunate.
Two accidents are a worry.
Three accidents are suspicious.

Yet, CFMEU workers, within an hour or two of its collapse, destroyed the wall completely.

Just going out on a limb here, but given half a wall collapsed there was high risk of further collapse - hence the demolition.

Phantom no doubt has a different point of view based on his extensive experience and qualifications in structural engineering.

It was a sabotage that was meant to look like an industrial accident that would reflect badly on the Grollos.
When events took an unexpected turn for the worst, any evidence of sabotage was tampered with and gotten rid of.

How has the carte blanche policy manifested itself?
What industrial actions have been taken?

Union sabotage of the wall based on what evidence? .........Your guess?... is that it?

A joint venture with which organized crime groups? What evidence?
Why do the unions want to send the Grollos broke? Who do the unions want the Grollos replaced with? How will Grollos replacement contractors benefit the building unions?

If it wasn’t windy that day what else was making the trees along the eastern freeway bend to and fro when I was driving into city?
If it wasn’t windy what triggered the wall to fall down?

Why would the manufacturing unions want to destroy their own manufacturing industry? No work, no workers, no unions – how does that make union officials more powerful?

For your reference, there are probably one or two key members of the AMWU who are doing far too much talking at the moment.

Especially in regard to the powers being given to them by the back end of the government.
