He has the talent to do it. In the past I have mentally written off Jake King and Robin Nahas and been wrong so I am not ready to write off Connors.

It is very important for us this year to have players like him playing well at Coburg and pushing for senior selection. We will have injuries and we need depth. We are right to be sceptical but he has played well at senior level and he can do it again but it's up to him.

I think Connors is screwed this year because I don't think he has the speed or aggression at the ball to play Half Forward at senior level but that is where they are going to try to play him this year. It would be very similar to watching Mitch Morton play there. So unfortunately for him he'll be stuck there at Coburg with all the young kids in the middle getting crap delivery and by Rd. 6 everyone will say he has cracked the poohs cos' he isn't dominating. I actually think he should be played at HBF at Coburg and told to play like you used to but just get better at pushing back with the flight of the ball and marking in front of a leading forwards. If he dominated back there like a fit Connors should at least then if there is an injury, suspension or someone will need a rest etc. to the likes of Batchelor, Newman, Helbig etc. and Connors he will get a chance and there would be some sort of continuity in his play.

Sort of agree with you. Coburg have a very poor team and I can't see him doing a lot at HF in that team. Id maybe play him off a wing pushing forward there. Only chance he will get to have the ball in his hands.

Put him in the guts. If he can't get his hand on the footy and play out a game at that level, then he isn't worth the time or effort.

I have a feeling that he is injured but there certainly hasn't been much communication from the club about his whereabouts. That does lead to speculation given his previous history.

You never know with Dan or the club as they aren't big on letting supporters know what's going on. The club hasn't said a thing about Macdonald since he took 'personal leave' either.

They did put him on the LTIL though and seeing it happened during his need for a break I think it's natural to assume his injury may not be entirely physical. With that in mind it makes sense that the club wouldn't want to say anything.
