2011: Horror year. Quad injury that kept him out all bar three games. It ruined him on and off of the field. The club sent him away in October to figure out if he wanted to play AFL. The club has gone above and beyond for Daniel Connors and has worked tirelessly to help improve him as a person. I have grave fear for Daniel Connors the person once his AFL days are over. The really scary part is that I still believe that Connors can play a vital role in any Richmond resurgence that is going to happen. Easy to forget that over the last ten games of 2010 he averaged 26 touches, 71% DE, 2.7 tackles, 1 clanger, 3.8 rebound 50’s as a running defende If he is to make it he must play a new role. At that point, most had Connors penciled in as a definite starting 18 player for 2011 and someone who still had a lot of improvement left in him. . Since his demise, that role has been filled by Houli, Conca, Batchelor and Ellis. If he is to make it he must play a new role
2012: The ultimate wild card. Banished from the club for the start of the preseason, his fitness must be a question mark. This is it for Connors, out of contract at the end of the season he must put it together this year. After only playing 27 of 110 games over the past five years, the club is planning without Connors but if he can do what is required, he is the X factor from the second tier of our list. As a high half forward he could fill a vital need. The questions with Daniel Connors are not ability but what is between his ears. If he wants it badly enough, he will make it.
