One poor game from the onetrickpony and people are fast to stick the boots in.

only one reason for a *smile* performance like that and thats concentration/laziness

1 bad game. meh. Been good all year and only played 20ish games still.

Long-term I see him on the wing rotating through the middle, however.

I hope he is working on his disposal - at times he is awfully cavalier & misses by a fiar amount & then doesn't seem to care to any great extent. It may just be his personality & he doesn't like to show when he has stuffed up. I quite like Dan & still think he'll be a player - but - at times - geez.......

Playing like a bloke who's just signed a new contract and the pressures off

Ouch.
Yeah I wasn't impressed at all with Dan's game and have been full of praise since he came back from suspension.
He either looked tired or he bludged.

Very intresting comments on Dan after what 160 AFL games?, no doubt his worst game since his return, however amazingly 4th in metres gained on the G yesterday and even more amzingly there are only 4 players this year averaging more in the key stats and they are Newman, Deledio, Reiwoldt and Tuck, yes most certainly should be moved on ..........dont need players coming back from a long suspension playing with flair and finding plenty of it, still cant believe the way he plays(taking on the game) that he do's turn it over on occasion, no doubt his critics would be the same critics who didnt like Johnson, Bowden and co chipping backwards around the backline....

In all seriousness, Dan has made great process this year, he still makes mental errors and gets a bit of tunnel vision when passing, however Im sure DH and CC will list D Connors in the possitives at the ned of the year

For someone that has lots to repay back to the club and has aspirations to run through the engine room.......absolutely the boots need to get into him to remind him what is expected..............because we know how good his best is and how bad his worst is. I feel that if he does not keep playing like he is on his last legs, and keep the intencity up, he will turn out like Chris hyde type.........I like Dan Connors and I want him to prosper and thats why I cant accept his dip in form.

The worry with Connors as a defender is always going to be his accountability. Its good to have attacking defenders if they actually also defend when needed. His disposal was awful on Sunday. Still has many areas to work on.
It's not much good being 4th in metres gained if you kick it 60 metres straight to an opposition player who then spots up a target inside 50 for a goal.

Our own turnovers killed us on Sunday and Connors was a major offender.

The hivemind swings behind him and now the hivemind swings against him. If he has a good game next week it will swing back again.

exactly, 1 not so good game and people jump on his back. was still very happy with his play overall, put his body on the line many times taking marks backing back and diving on lose balls.

not a great game but BIG PICTURE PEOPLE... only played 20 odd games and is a beaut kick of the ball. Once he gets a bigger tank he will move to the middle (thats the word).

Managed a lot of possessions but his disposal was definitely well off. Was there in a box with him kikcing straight towards us and under no pressure he missed a 30 metre kick to his man by a good 20 metres straight out on the full. 13 turnovers, 6 errors and 3 critical errors. So not good but Jackson had 11 tunrovers, 2 errors and 3 critical errors, and is in most people's votes, so I guess it sometimes comes down to expectation. We expect Connors to dispose well whereas we dont have that expectation for Jackson.

geez he had some howlers on Sunday...

Very bad last week, just terrible. While he has played a few very good games this year, I'm still sus on his attitude. I still reckon his eye catching flashy moments gloss over his unwillingness or inability to consistently engage in the contest and think things through. Needs to toughen up generally, and also needs to lose the 'not turn up to play at all'-type efforts that were his norm last year, and showed up again last week.

Should be playing Half Forward or Wing, he is playing off half back as he has good disposal. No way would have to be one of the worst for disposal in our team. He players much better when he kicks it long.
