Connors

Actually, I'd rather he start on the ground and not on the bench. Took a hard hit in that contest with Cooney - they reckon it's only bruised ribs, he'll be hurting tomorrow.

and the next day, and the next etc.

Agree but needs to improve his disposal

He has the odd brain fade MB but he is exactly what you want off half back very quick to play on and use the first option.

Disposal is very creative. Happy to wear 4 clangers at this stage of his development if he takes 'em on 20 times a game.

I remember Steve Johnson being similar at a similar age. Did some great Johnson things and also really coughed some up.

Very few positives today but Dan was one, Nason was promising and at least Post got another game.

Hislop and Farmer should be worried about their spot, I'd think.

Good point lamby. He has only played 4 or 5 games in the position. Will take time but good signs.

Connors was one of our few break evens today. Cotchin and McGuane the others. Feel for the boy - took a really hard hit because of a crap piece of work by Nahas.

one of few players we have with some smarts and skill. progressing well and just needs to keep going. just needs to keep it simple and not over play it, build his fitness and work hard. he has the tools.

Connors ain't perfect and he's making a heap of errors out there but geez he's having crack and taking them on.
I think many of his critics are forgetting Dan's only played a dozen games.
Needs to be persevered with IMO because he is genuinely one showing some improvement. :)

Agree there, with Connors its not a skill issue its an application/discipline one. When he is not lazy he is a great kick.

Agree, he is a natural footballer. With the turnover in Q2, he tried to finesse it and tightened up instead of trusting his boot. Just keep playing him, the poise will come.

One of the few stepping up. The Cooney crunch was one that he could have got out of the way of but didn't. Huge step forward.

I have to agree that Connors has been holding the line down back and has done well with the barage our defence has copped over the last week in partcular the second halves. With Dea & Webberly groomed at HB at the moment it makes me wonder where Hardwick is think of playing these two if they come into the side, if he plays them at HB, and what will happen to Connors.

Kel Moore is the one who'll be in the spotlight geoffry.

I think Dea takes Moore's spot long term as a medium defender and I think I saw Webberley play wing on Saturday mate, I think they see him developing into another midfield runner to add depth to that department.

Connors is the most safe Running defender we have.

The spotlight is on Edwards, Newman, Tambling and Farmer no doubt. All need to improve significantly.

Edwards should be at half forward for starters.

Connors has been very good, despite the turnovers. Has ability and needs to be played. Could go to a wing or even forward if the other two go to HB. Would be better value forward than Hislop in my view.

We've got Post to replace a tall with a tall, unless he has cut a deal with the club to get his long servive entitlements. ;D

That's why I have added Webbs down back to either replace Farmer or even Edwards to free him up the ground, he's got a great kick behind him to clear the defence. It's tough when you don't know where to slot a player. ;D
