Yep. Noble appears to have been sacked.
Perfectly planned huh Red?
I reckon the players were told and warned to start performing otherwise they'd get chopped which is why they played well last week.

It's a perfect storm now for a season ending loss. Coming off a confidence sapping capitulation, playing at marvel, lots of injuries and now up against a team that sacked an unpopular coach. The season could capitulated after last year's Eagles loss. The Gold Coast one was worse.

Is North still 10 to 1 to win?

Not too mention the 4.35pm Saturday arvo timeslot; an absolute graveyard for us and the slot of some our most hard to take losses. GC x 2; Cats a couple of weeks ag; Giants in Sydney with Bolton disallowed goal a few years back.

That said, if we can beat North we may as well just tank the rest of the season.

He doesn’t need a roast, he just needs to be told if he doesn’t fix his conversion and decision making he won’t be in the team and that he can fix it and the club will help with whatever resources it can to fix it - but he needs to own it.
Can edwards just tackle?...56seconds to go..ball on our flank and shedda just has to go the ball or tackle....can short not whack ball outta players hands....can the midfeilders gut run and protect our defensive zone with 30 seconds to go???
Castagna blaming is a cop out ...that last 5 minutes was a team non effort ....once a bloody gain

Your right. I feel we are playing better this year... Gold coast are on the (slight) improve. I can't remember our injury list last year but we seem to lose mids one week, rucks the next. Hugo, mrj, gibcus getting regular games is good and dimma has tried his 2 ruck strategy. Soldo hasn't quite got back to the level. Short and Baker to the middle is good coaching. If dimma thinks this list can contend then Edwards play's in the AFL.
I don't think we will get past 8th spot.

Obviously the last few minutes of the game was a massive *smile* show from lots of players, you could add Grub's dropped mark n stupid late push in the back for a downfield gimme to the blame someone else list.
Sometimes though when the *smile*'s hitting the fan n there's crap coming at you from all directions there's that moment of space n time where you can have that little uplifting miracle moment that lets you know your arse is saved n it raises your spirits for one final effort. Then of course there's that Georgie moment where everyone knows it's impossible to *smile* up 999,999 out of a million but *smile* happens so why bother.

agreed

i tried to look at the bigger picture, which is why are we having such bad last quarters

- too many inexperienced players
- too many under developed players
- too many unfit
- too many aging stars

I think its a combination of all those, its were we are at - equalisation at its best

to stay at the top, you need incredible luck with the aging players, but also need to pick the eyes out of draft (without access to the top 20)

My theory is you work out how to nullify the 80+ club. Players who racked up more than 80 AFL fantasy points, this who we need to attempt to nullify this week based on their previous week form

Still some "ok/good" talent we need to negate this week! A goal kicker, a few good mids/runners and rucks.... plus CCJ who might pull one out of his you know what !

My point is to not pick him and tell him what he needs to do to get picked again. It’s on Selection and development mainly.

Consistently blowing gilt edged chances costs games. Has before and thank goodness it didn’t in 2019 GF.

I still reckon that big game against WCE over there last year...when we just lost...was a mighty richmondy effort against all odds that just sapped our self belief! Both the AFL/Maggotts got us good! ;) Still struggling to get our Mojo back!
