Changes v Lions qualifying final

Ellis was faultless and important unequivocally. Not just IMO.

but IMO, Bolton was lively and creative and selfless and important
Faultless?????

Are you serious????

When he coughed it up early in the second quarter for a Lions goal you call that 'faultless'????

Balta experiment today was a fail offered nothing to
Soldo is our #1 ruck now
Thought the Choldo combination is what we should go with for the finals

we'll a 10 stubbies and 4 rums, low expectation, kind of faultless.

which shouldn't be downplayed

Remind me of the details as I'm still on a train home
Someone passed it from the members side to the middle but I can't remember now except to think it was a bad kick

Was that totally Brandos fault?

Gee - this is a great debate (that will go for two weeks!!) but lets assume:

1. Hardwick is not a fan of mass changes
2. Cotch will be better for the run (hence Ross is no chance)
3. Ruck is a debate - and I agree it's a tough call
- I think Nank should be nervous. Balta and Chol both staking claims. Soldo getting better each week!
4. Short a risk - BUT - he has incredible penetration.
- but Kmac has physical presence

In the RFC I trust!!!!

I love them!!!!!

:)

Why stupid?
If we had Soldo as No 1 and Nank to play the No 2 - I could see Nank proving as good or better than Chol or Balta

TBH I'm not 100% on it and it depends if Nank himself is 100% - but don't see why it's not a serious option
Me too.
Nanks would be a dangerous forward.
Relief ruck too.

Can Balta play VFL next week?
21.1 Players who have not played at least one (AFL or VFL) Senior or Reserve match in the relevant season shall be ineligible to play in the Senior Grade Finals.
21.2 Players who have played with the AFL Senior team of any AFL Club after the 1st day of July in the relevant season shall be ineligible to play in the VFL Senior or VFL Reserve Grade Finals unless they have played a total of at least seven (7) Senior or Reserve VFL matches in the same season.
21.6 Notwithstanding the provisions of Rule 21 when an AFL Club is still qualified to participate in the AFL Finals Series, all such AFL Club listed players shall be eligible to be selected for a team participating in either the VFL Senior or VFL Reserve grade Finals Series game provided that such player has played at least 1 game in the VFL Senior Grade or missed through injury at least 8 consecutive Home and Away matches of either the AFL or VFL Season.

I think the valid eligibility is 21.6, But Balta may already qualify under 21.2.

Balta has to come out ! Can we play both Nak & Soldo ? I guess the Lions have 2 genuine ruckman so why not !

I know the moment you are talking about and Ellis was burnt by a poor disposable from his teammate.

I knew right then the whippers would blame Ellis for that one.

Not in the slightest
Except Ellis maybe should have tried to move it on without taking possession of it.

Thoug

We'll have to agree to disagree.

Thought Ellis was weak over the ball at times and his attack on the contest was stand-offish on occasions. Also thought he wasn't that tight in marking his man when the Lions were attacking.

Bolton did some things here and there, but didn't think he had much of an impact on the game and there were a couple of times where his lack of awareness cost the Tigers.
ellis was good and efficient, ran his usual 17k and did his job to a high level.

prestia shanks it and misses ellis by 15 metres who is surrounded and mauled by 3 lions.

Just a few comments in no particular order:

- Ellis wasn't "faultless", but didn't play a bad game, at all.

- Somehow, Short was included in Richmond's best when I first looked at the initial match report on the RFC site. Now I've been...reasonably supportive of Short over time, but that one did leave me dumbfounded as I didn't think he played very well even though he did chalk up a decent number of possessions - not sure on that but I think so

- Soldo has to be our #1 Ruckman at this point, so yea, it's a tough call from there. If Nank is considered fit after he plays VFL then...yea the MC just might go for that one. It's just that the other two aren't giving us that much, even though they have on-paper appeal. And it'd be against the Lions, with two full-on rucks themselves, as someone has said, so...maybe.

- Castagna. He has caused me a lot of heartache over time, but I can see what he brings. If anything, more so recently even. God I wish he weren't such an appalling kick for goal though - blind Freddie could see he has no confidence at all. But in any event, they won't drop him at this point.

- Rioli played a very good game I thought. Really put in.

- The odds are, Stacky is done for the year. But maybe he can beat them, it has been done before. BUT will the MC entertain that anyway? Hardwick has not looked or sounded optimistic, any time this issue is raised in pressers since the injury.

I agree I don't think there'll be many, if any, changes.

=======

Stating the bleeding obvious: we will have to be very much on our game, to take out the replay Saturday week.

I appreciate it's kind of an inherent part of how we play, but even so I just feel we leave too many goals on the table. And I think we can do better, we have the talent overall. (Part of which - we can pray for George to have one of his better days).

In 2017 there was one change to the final team from the r23 team.
In caddy - out markov
Then unchanged for 3 finals.

2018 : The QF team was unchanged from r23.
And so was the PF team.,

Don’t expect many changes.

Yes, but you're forgetting rule 21.8

21.8 But any player that is caught in an illegal betting spree, An exempt shall be made for them to play VFL

Get him to the TAB

except Cotchy has heaps less shots and misses heaps more goals than George.

will George need to win the Coleman before folks get what he brings?
Hear what you’re saying easy but as a team we had zero tackles in our forward 50 today. That is cause for concern. That is George’s and Rioli’s role. Don’t think we’ll get away with that again.

But George won’t be dropped. No chance.

That was Prestia’s fault. He butchered a simple pass and put Ellis under immediate pressure.
