Changes v Lions qualifying final

Interesting. Potential ins are Nank, Ross and if fit Stacky.

Outs in my book Castagna and potentially Short. If Stacky was available Stacky for Short would seem a given.

Ross could help clearances, Stacky would shore up half back. If Nank second rucks Balta could be the wild card

Castanga?? No chance... way too important to our structure and new game style.

Provides spark when he gets the footy through the middle of the ground.

Mine would be

In - Nank, Ross
Out - Bolten, Balta

Ellis was faultless and important unequivocally. Not just IMO.

but IMO, Bolton was lively and creative and selfless and important

We'll have to agree to disagree.

Thought Ellis was weak over the ball at times and his attack on the contest was stand-offish on occasions. Also thought he wasn't that tight in marking his man when the Lions were attacking.

Bolton did some things here and there, but didn't think he had much of an impact on the game and there were a couple of times where his lack of awareness cost the Tigers.

I would like to see a Soldo-Nankervis combo. Its a bit concerning how little footy Nank will have played coming in to finals but still think Nank's output will be greater than what Chol or Balta can at this stage.

Short has had a bad month of footy IMO and although more attacking than our other defenders, most are more reliable with their disposal. I'll take Vlas, Grimes, Baker or Bachar distributing out of defense over Shorty any day of the week. DTLD even!

K mac has been playing defence in the 2's and brings a bit more size and toughness to our backline. His disposal can be iffy at times but can't be worse than short at this stage.

In: Nankervis, Kmac
Out: Balta, Short

One change I’d like to see is to increase our aggressive tackling with Townsend for Bolton, but I might be a little biased towards Towner in September there.

Kamdyn is in my best finals team as well, but don’t ask me who to drop.

We have gradually replaced role players with skill. Kmac an example.

If not for Castagna burning three goals in the first through abysmal decision making and skill we'd be 7 goals up at quarter time Get Cotchin to play that role and bring in Ross as a mid and eventually bring back Stacky.

Perfect. 100% agree. Short could join a very rare and unwanted club of being dropped late in two premiership years. Surely he would have to request a trade such would be his hurt

I don't think God loves me that much, dog.

Playing both Nankervis and Soldo in the same team would be plain stupid.

No it wouldn't. A fit nank offers more than balta and chol as second ruck. And short must go. Everything he touched mostly turned to *smile*.

Cotchin to play Bolten’s role, Ross as a mid, Stack back in 2020. George to continue his good work.

Why stupid?
If we had Soldo as No 1 and Nank to play the No 2 - I could see Nank proving as good or better than Chol or Balta

TBH I'm not 100% on it and it depends if Nank himself is 100% - but don't see why it's not a serious option

except Cotchy has heaps less shots and misses heaps more goals than George.

will George need to win the Coleman before folks get what he brings?

Seriously it will only be Nank that comes in for the next one save for injury on the track.

In Nank out Noah, most likely scenario.

In Stackmann if there is a miracle recovery, if not Stackman in for Prelim (when we win) :))

We are too slow already and require our 2nd ruck to have good flexibility.
Soldo doesn't give us that if Nank comes back in, Balta does and I believe we need to persevere with him.
