Changes v Lions qualifying final

I suggest the most lurid boardies you own Ian.

Its not every day you get to go to a sub-tropical qualifying final with 40,000 other people with no fashion sense.

yeah, nah i'm not that much of a bogan. its either black jeans or black denim shorts to go with my richmond gear. leaning towards shorts.

I think Im going to iron my good, going-out coconut palm boardies

Looks like Sarah Black on that website has used our PRE language on today's article re: Nanks and Soldo as Nando.

Royalties to Mr T and Rosy thanks.....

Anyway, I'll be looking forward to see these 2 ruck together.

Broad was on Hipwood. Astbury blanketed McStay. McCarthy was passed between Baker and Short (along with Cox). Houli had Zorko when he went forward.

I suspect we will go with the same matchups.

Yeah agree the matchups we had worked a treat but I suspect the pressure is now on the Lions to do something different. We back our systems in.

There is commentary on here and elsewhere that Cameron will roam further up the field at times but I actually expect him to plant himself as a deep full forward more often, engage Grimes in a one on one tussle off the ball with the aim of picking up a few cheapie frees which matches their off field umpire bashing campaign and also takes Grimes out of the game a little. They tried last game to open up space behind our defence but were unable to and I can’t see that changing much.

They will also put more effort into keeping their forward structures in place which is a bit easier if it is a typical final which is more one on one with less space given to either team.

I think the game will be won or lost at this end of the ground - they need to kick more goals to be in the game. For us, we are confident that our forwards will generate a similar number of opportunities week in to get us over that 80 pt mark regardless.

most of the mathematical models (see Squiggle) are predicting a Brisbane win by 6 points

usually these models align somewhat to the betting odds, however per the odds the line is 6 points in richmond's favour

The Umps are worth 5 -6 goals to them at least the same way they gave the Eagles a leg up in our game.

This Cameron BS will ensure they as well as (he) gets a few nice easy gimmes.

yeah but do these models include intangible factors such as finals experience? Its always a factor when most of your players are finals virgins. I reckon its a good 2 goal advantage to us. and what crowd factor for the home team? This game will be unique in terms of it being cancelled out by the tiger army. It will be much different compared to playing in Perth for example.

Just got back onboard Majestic Princess in Singapore & surprise surprise the Foxtel AFL channel has come up on the TV monitor so it appears we will get the finals games in our cabins. Quite a lot of Tiger supporters onboard with a fanatic from Gippsland Lakes full on.

A true fanatic would never book holidays in September.
