Changes v Lions qualifying final

Thankfully not playing during the day on Saturday, temperatures ranging from 28-32 degrees all week in Brisvegas.

It's gonna be Nank in, Balta out. Don't fight it. Accept it.

It certainly works on Ticketek, not sure about Ticketmaster.

Keep it in mind y'all. Lions member I was just talking to reckons they have been allocated 28,000 seats, Tiges just 5,000 with the rest going to corporates. Her daughter works in the channel 7 sports department up here so could be right I guess?

If true its a blooping disgrace.

I'm hearing the ticket allocation was 50/50. I think they will be shocked at the noise the "away team" makes.

3,3,5,that's our second rucks last 3 AFL games touches,so playing a man down, nank is our best around the ground ruck by a fair way and allowing him to ruck less and concentrate on getting touches can be devastating, great mark, beast mentality, creates clearances, can play forward.

Who ever said Tigers 5000 ,lions 28000 is speaking shhitt, finals are AFL controlled based on the more members the more tickets you get.

If Nank plays do we deploy him as a semi permanent fwd who relieves Soldo?
I reckon Ivans tapwork is better.
All of a sudden our fwd line becomes a bit top heavy.

I'd have Nank starting on the bench and relieving Soldo from the bench.
There were times when Soldo and Chol were on the field together - so there might be times for Soldo and Nank to do the same.
Reckon Nank is more likely to win the ball on these occasions - marks or in play - while resting forward than was Marbs.

Don't think so. If both Soldo and Nanks plays 70% game time (1.4), that's 0.4 of a game deployed forward. If .15 of a game is to relieve Reiwoldt and another 0.15 to relieve Lynch (total 0.3) that's only 1/10th of a game where all 3 of Lynch, Reiwoldt, Nanks/Soldo are forward. It mixes things up a bit and makes it difficult for opponent to have a settled backline.

Thats *smile*.
Every time i go to Queensland its either pissing down or the weather generally average.
32 degrees wtf.

You have to bear in mind the second ruck is of such little importance that we played Shaun Grigg in it. All they need to do is compete and both can do that.

The third tall forward has to be able to cover the spread and be able to present an outlet both ways to make the defender be accountable and not get a free plus 1.

Neither Soldo or Nankervis have the capacity to do this. Nankervis is a stoppage beast on first and second possession, he is pure grunt, not a viable hit up target.

Soldo and Nankervis can really only play the same spot, ruck and tiny minutes forward. Neither have the capacity to cover a key defender in the case of injury either.

Playing them both will have a huge impact on our mobility, flexibility and agility.

Personally, I think it would be a mistake, I'd play Nankervis if his body is right and leave Soldo out, Balta to play the third forward.

Im for Soldo first ruck with Nank for support.

"I know match committee were pretty keen to see how he goes in that ruck position, that second ruck, because I think that's where they've forecast him playing." fly. McRae conceding the athletic big man was in competition with Nankervis for the Tigers' second ruck spot behind Ivan Soldo.

So its all but official. Ivan Soldo is our incumbent First Ruck.

The club said the hitouts were what tweaked nanas aductor the 2nd time.

Given that our mids seem to get more ball from stoppages with big Ivan hitting it, and Nank is so superior around the ground,

I hope they can conjure a set up that does that.

some creative rotations also keep 'em fresh.

I think this combo has the potential to grind opposition combos, including grundy, into the ground,

and Ive always thought ruckmen win finals (I reckon I was vindicated yesterday).

I think we have enough speed and mobility to go Soldo and Nank.

I love having 5 genuine ruckman options, that's 4 fit and in form ruckman and 1 huge swingman, available for a tilt.

love it how for soooo long we all said .....if nank goes down we are stuffed, now we are finding it hard to squeeze him back in...we will tho and soldo will hold his spot too.

One thing about Nank is that when he gets desperate he also gets very scarey! Likes to hurt the opposition and make them think twice.

One thing I like about nank , he might be no speedster, but has a big motor that keeps going and going , first game back he looked like the freshest big man on the field in that last quarter

During the last part of the season Soldo has been worth his place and our mids are feeding off his work so there is no way he is going to be dropped for anyone. Nanks, as good as he is, is still under a bit of an injury cloud so have him second ruck and a mobile battering ram around the ground seems the way to go

I get what you mean and respect where you’re coming from TBR but I think Nank might be a bit more capable of being a second/third tall in the forward line. From memory he played key forward for a couple of games late in 2018 when Jack was out and Soldo rucked. He can definitely take a grab and kick quite well and those extra efforts will be useful in the forward line. I don’t think he could do what Balta could do in the backline though. All he can really do is fill a gap and take a grab back there.

I would not be confident in Nank going in as first ruck with only Balta or Chol as backup.

We need more aggressive tackling next week.

Brisbane were The Man last week with the way they tackled us with intent.

Agree, with you about Nank. Also with the implementation of the 666 i think the 2nd ruck is more important now, a fit Grigg wouldn't be playing as 2nd ruck.
