Changes v Dees

Banks is a tricky one, has been generally poor, but had a good last Q and contributed to the win, looked like a player for the first time, so seems harsh to drop him on that basis.

Pickett, has been down on form, but considering where our list is at, still provides running power and presence.

Mansell, wasn't as bad as some reckon, running power and pressure against a hard running side.

Still not rapt in Miller but I suppose we need the big lunk, begrudging stays. Young can be dropped, Melbourne don't have a big quota of threatening talls.

I'm torn, I'd like to bring in Coulthard to the starting side, Shorty is auto selection, and maybe Cumbo.

Out Young, Pickett or Mansell, Coulthard sub

In Short, Coulthard, Cumbo or Mansell sub

Bit of fence sitting there.

Yep I thought Banks showed a ton in Q4 Snake

Real good signs there

If Bauer is declared fit, does he come back in?
Seems cruel that he doesn’t get another chance as he earnt his promotion and was injured through no fault of his own.

Think he'll need to get through a full game in the ressies first before putting his hand up for senior selection.

Out miller banks
In cumberland short
Picket can pinch hit and play thr castgna role of brining the ball to ground..put him on lever

Dont know bout you guys, but playing the Dees, regardless of their ladder position is such a yawn. Just can’t get excited about it. They’ve got no fans..

He had 2 more possessions in 7 minutes than Granger Barrass did on Sunday in 3 quarters of football.
Using my time on ground per possession calculations, Bauer was on course for a 32 disposal game.
Surely he comes straight back in on those numbers?
;)

A lot of ifs but think about this. If Crows beat 4th place Dees today and we beat Dees next week, we're above Dees on the ladder.
It didnt eventuate.

BUT

If the Tigers beat the Deez ............we can actually finish 4th if we win every game.

I'm tempted to bring in Ryan and Cumberland.

Tigers have to separate May and Lever.

48 hours ago I wanted Pickett dropped. Now he stays.

Time for experimenting stops. It’s all chips on the table. Experience now counts as we enter a big game.

Which brings me to Cumberland. He can’t be trusted. Just yet. Yes he kicked 6 goals but a game against Melbourne is at another level. We can’t afford petulant performances this week.

Out: Banks (unlucky but see above)

Yeah picked that up later but couldn't be bothered correcting my post once everyone had posted their thoughts
If we really don’t think we can win it, then great time to rest Cotchin to ensure he’s ripe for games we can and should win, but if they are going all out this Sunday, then drop Mansell. Pickett would be first choice on form but is playing a role in the forward line and we don’t have a replacement for him. Coulthard the sub again
Bauer like Shorty is a test to play so maybe he could replace Pickett. He has earned a go at the big league if considered fit

I like the calculations, I'm a Bauer fan, and those two possies v swans I like that he ran down the wing and got the handball receive then laced it out to Prestia by memory.
Still think he'll go through the ressies. Cumberland kicking 6, should come straight in but nothing is that simple for a Cumberland selection, so we'll wait and see.

Last time we played Melbourne Shorty had missed 3 games with a calf injury. He was our best that night. We were in the contest for most of the game because we lowered our eyes going into the forward line and didn't blaze away. This must be our plan again next Sunday. This will mean playing a bit more possession footy and less long kick to a contest. If we are switched on we can win this game. Not sure who comes in with Shorty but I suspect Cumberland will add some spice to this type of footy. Whoever plays the 2nd tall forward role (Miller or Ryan) they need to separate from Jack at all costs. If Pickett plays forward he must lead up to and mark the ball. He can roost it from 50 so that shouldn't be an issue. Not sure who goes out - either Banks, Mansell or Pickett.. The Coal train needs another run, hopefully in the starting 22.

In Short and Ryan
Out Pickett and Miller.

Play Ryan from the goal square. Pickett has had too many off weeks now.

Thought we should have moved Young forward against Sicily to at least make a contest.
Worth a try this this week moving him forward. Just need to bring the ball to ground.

thanks for putting my thoughts into words Re: Cumberland .. i was going to say he's a bit loose

agree: 'no experimenting' at this point.
best way to win it is with what we know.. it's a huge game and we're a good chance

Short in
Banks out

We desperately need goalkicking power. Can Cumba be trusted? No idea. But with that side last week if its kicked anywhere near May it's goodnight Irene.
