Changes v Crows

Thanks for bringing up the Mangrook Conspiracy. It gets too little attention.
Is that anything like the Manboob conspiracy? They rarely get much attention either, unless of course you accidentally cop an unrestrained pair of them flopping across your line of sight.

True...funny posts :)

I don't think I alluded to any sort of conspiracy, just that the vote givers often pay too much attention to disposal numbers that's all. And then out of respect for the award, coaches votes will naturally follow.

Crows coming off Darwin trip, tough game against Giants and 5 day break. We’re a chance if can get some soldiers back and pounce early

Martin and Floss under an injury cloud

May not be playing this week.

Given we don’t do small losses in 2019, I think we will be in for an almighty flogging on Thursday night.

I would rest anyone who is 80% or less. If that includes Ellis, Martin, Astbury, Lambert, Vlaustin - then so be it. Even Lynch, if his form is anything to do with conditioning -based on the weather - he is unlikely to get his confidence back up this week - go with Balta And.or Cho up forward with an army of smalls.

A chance for so many of our players to get 2 weeks off to recover is more important than the win at this stage

Bring on Cho, Turner, Bolton &- i'd even possibly ke ep Towner in based on those conditions. To me this would be more about how good Dimma is as a coach and making a system that plays to the conditions. I remember year ago, Terry Wallace playing a extremely slow style of game against the crows where we ended up winning against all odds. Terry, who i hated - was always good for being able to pull out a weird game style for 1 game a year which the opponent did not expect and getting a surprise win. I love Dimma, but he has not really shown an ability to do that - his "plan B" strategy has been non existent.

I like the way Turner is progressing in the VFL.

But weather looks not great for Adelaide Thursday and he has a light body and really not ready for AFL anyway especially on a wet night.

Broad & Bolton will be in

Two of - Higgins / Rioli / Butler / Townsend out

Cupboard a little bare for the ins.

Only other player that could be considered would be Menadue that played VFL Sat. Weller did ok but not sure he is what we want playing AFL but conditions may suit him.

They make take a couple of emergencies over and wait and see before bounce who plays. They have time to get back to play VFL on Saturday at Royal Beaconsfield.

Soldo - one more game at least - conditions will suit him better than Chol but definitely have Chol on the radar to play at our dooms day ground Marvel the week after the bye. The hard deck there would suit him and be good to see him at AFL level and see how he goes.

If Dusty and Floss don't play, we may as well save the money on the flights and accommodation and just send 22 blow up dolls.

I havent seen anything like this injury situation in my life. It's beyond belief the number and regularity of injuries to key players.

Or send some of our Tiger AFLW team. The Crows would be so busy laying tackles they would forget all about everything else, while we keep kicking goals.

Hopefully questions are being asked about our injury list and the change in conditioning during the preseason.

Yep have no doubt that our players emerged from pre-season without the proper conditioning required to play AFL football.....particularly in light of the game style that made us successful.

Club pulled the wrong string in an attempt to keep us fresh and peaking for September.

Questions need to be asked.

Rain brings us right into it. No way does Rioli get dropped in the wet.

I'd drop Soldo and go with Balta as the main ruck. Soldo offers nothing around the ground and Balta needs to be around the contest and away from defence.

really which of the injuries could be blamed on conditioning

How do you assess someone as being 80% fit compared to say 75% or 85%?

Really? Have a good look at the injuries people. No soft tissue stuff here.It was always going to catch up with us given the exceptional run we had. That is why there are statistics.Look at the road toll at the moment with all the measures put in place and we have a spike of 50 more than last year. The question I would ask is how many fingers does Dimma have left to plug a leaking sieve?

Agree. Totally stuffed up last years run into September. We finished 2 games clear on top and were the most sluggish side going into the finals.
