Changes v Cats

I get your criticism of Naish but the same goes for Eggs. Plays very wide and cost us goals from panicked turnovers.
True, but bear in mind in my criticism of Naish I still see him as a long term prospect. Eggs took some really good marks today. Like Naish, he's outside but both have traits to work with. Both stay in the twos for mine.

I didnt see last nights debacle I was working but from the looks of it our midfield didnt turn up again last night, and Brown got his 3 goals from frees against us like he does every time they play us.

And Razor stitched us again as he seems to love doing, I reckon he just loves the hate and attention he gets from the rabid Tiger fans he loves tormenting us he gets off on it no doubt about it.

Consensus is from what I've seen here and other sources is that Butler did SFA apart from kick two goals and that Bolton, Balta, and Higlet were quiet, whilst others like Grover, Caddy and Sheds had quieter games and Chimp was rusty AF..

Soldo was always going to get torched by Goldstein who is still one of the Premier rucks going around, better that it was Soldo than CCJ in that regard.

Baker, Bash and Dusty easily our 3 best on a night I wouldnt have wanted to be a Tigers defender similar to the Doggies debacle.

North won their Grand FInal good luck to them by Tuesday they will be irrelevant again.

Only bloke that deserved a game on VFL form today was Menadue.

Displayed AFL traits all days. Hit targets, ran and carried well, clean hands.

I disagree. I'd pick Naish & not just on today's game. He deserves to make his debut after a body of work over several weeks. It's time.

Did you watch today's game Oldie?

From todays game

I say Graham and Townsend may be in

We need bigger bodies.

Play Townsend on Stewart - he gets plenty of the ball and a strong player is needed to go with him.

Rioli did not do much today but may be a better AFL player but does not seem to be running well

Naish a chance to come in but has to play wing - he is not a backman

I say get Naish P in spook, mainly due to the fact his a footballer and a positive risk taker, I think we need a bit of that through the middle, especially while Lambert is out

Naish has some great traits but this week may not be the week to expose him. We do need some bigger bodies, and we have enough newbies and their inconsistency may have a part to play in our poor losses.

But at some point soon he needs to be rewarded and given his chance.

I'm really not sold on Eggsy. If Stack's the real thing, Egg is a hologram.

He has a good footy brain, but poor footy physicality.

Menadue had at least 9 running bounces today, including two after he took an intercept mark, ran around the man on the mark plus three others, and handballed to Turner, who centred it to Fat Side Paddy for an easy goal.

Naish kicked 2 goals, not 3, and 1 was thanks to Menadue taking a positive risk.

Absolutely our young 'uns inconsistency is costing us. And yes, we're slight enough without throwing Naish in as well.

Stack is a champion in the making. Eggs can hope to be Houli. Boy with the wheelbarrow, but he has a chance. Few measure up to Stack.

Hawkins might be in trouble

Havnt seen it but wont come under scrutiny.

On naish. Havnt seen him play but outside is not a dirty word.

And if ever outside is in fashion, its against the handbaggers.

But im hoping towner plays. We need to hurt them.

Naish lopes, or bludges, much of the time.

Havnt seen him, but hes getting alot of ball and hitting the scoreboard heaps,

For a bludger?

Maybe he has that joel bowden laconic thing?

Or maybe VFL is too easy so he bludges?

Im ready to take a look

Stays fat side of the ground. When we switch it, he gets it. Bludges on defence, chases are half-hearted at best.

He's a talent, great kick, good in the air, smart, reads it well. But I don't think he's ready.

Menadue has been tried in every role over five years.

He’s a poor mans Chris Hyde. Enough.

Menadue has played 30 games where he hasn't looked ready spook. His form has been good enough to warrant a look.

Yes on stream.

And you rated Naish's game better than Menadues? I thought Naish was poor in quite a number of contests and his kicking was a bit below par. Dont want to lnock Naish as overall I have been impressed by his improvement this year, but today he looked a VFL player while Menadue looked above the level as he has all year.

That is also an improvement for Connor because he has been flaky at AFL level and VFL level in previous years but been good this year at both levels.

I think what we see with Connor is conservatism bias where people favour prior evidence over new and emerging evidence.

I am not sold on Connor yet either but he is clearly a different player this year to previous years.

Don't disagree that Connor's game was a bit better but how many chances do you give a player before you decide that's their level?
Naish won't get better playing at VFL level if left there too long without reward. You alsocan run the risk of stagnating development. He needs a taste of senior footy.
