Changes V Carlton

Biggest game of the season so far.
You are so right St. K.
Lose this and to the Pussies next week and we are toast for this season.
Wonder, if we keep winning, who could we replace in the 8?
Not the Mudpies I suggest.
Look at the soft draw they have over the next 6 games.
Typical of the Muddies who get a great draw every year it seems.

Think we need to at least beat one of Carlton or Geelong in the next two to think about the 8 seriously, ideally both.

Pies draw is soft, but they've still won all the close ones and our % is far better. History suggests that those close wins don't last. The games against Suns and Giants are dangerous imo.

Dimma said recently that Tarrant has a niggle, I think he said it was his hip. He is moving like it's still bothering him.

Miller has been good since he was told to go for his marks, is very quick, I'd have him in for Tarrant.

Your comments are totally uncalled for.

If you look at a replay, during the 3rd there is a point just after Jack kicks out from a set shot.
There is a point soon after, when the ball is rolling around half back towards a position held by Tarrant, whose opponent is well behind. He seems to slow and wait for a team mate to take over but as the ball comes closer he finally goes at it, picks it up still well clear and then tries to hand ball WITH his right hand to a position on his right.
He misses his target and there is another needless stoppage.
As you earlier pointed out the graphics are not quite as clear on the replay but being there you get a more complete picture of that play.
Don’t know if you were there but literally everyone seated near me had their head in their hands, or was groaning.
He is slow, he lacks confidence when required to go in and get the ball and is at his best only when the ball comes in his direction and he is in position to come in and spoil.
According to the most recent training report it seems he is likely to be selected again this week. I hope he does well but the clear conclusion from watching his play over the season is that he is no longer up to it.
As for Miller, I didn’t say he could manage it. The point is that he is playing at his best ever form and has done enough to be given a second chance.

I could pick out nearly every player that played on Thursday when the crowd would have had their head in their hands. Yes I was at the ground.

Maybe Jacks ridiculous kick for goal in the 2nd, kicking along the ground in the wet from 25m out was dumb
Or how about Broads kick out on the full in the 3rd off his left which went about 5m
Or how about Soldos phantom mark in the 3rd when Juddy kicked the perfect kick for him into 50

I'm not sure why you are singling out Tarrant. He played his role perfectly well on Thursday much like most of the team but that doesn't mean he didn't make mistakes (practically everyone out there made mistakes).

McKay would kick 14 on Miller. Curnow might only kick 9.

Out: Martin, Soldo
In: Lynch, Lambert

We missed Prestia in Round 1 when he went off and it will be the midfield again that will be the key. I'm confident we will score against their defence and I think our defence is stronger than it was in Round 1. Our intercept game is going so well at the moment, but pressure in the midfield is key for that.

If we compete better in the midfield than we did in Round 1, I'm confident we will beat them.

Agree with this - the midfield battle is the most important, soon as we lost Prestia in R1 that’s when the blues midfield got on top.

Injury List :

Updated - June 14, 2022

Probable

Tom Lynch - Hamstring

Questionable

Dustin Martin - illness

Our midfield was destroyed in the last quarter in Round 1. If not for that we would have won. This is the issue and the determinant of whether we can win.

I reckon our back 7 is far more settled than in round 1 also

Balta and Baker were forward from memory.

Balta was back for the first 2.5 quarters, flogging Curnow. Then went forward and kicked 2. Trained forward yesterday according to caesar.

It'll need to be. Curnow & McKay are a handful for any defence.

Prestia is our best hope.
I think he's too short for either of those blokes.

I'd have Tarrant on Mackay, and Broad on Curnow. Vlastuin / Grimes will float between smalls and intercept where they can go 3rd man up on those talls. Gibcus on Silvagni.

Caleb Marchbank out for the Blues - 2 month with a knee injury.

Really unlucky for the bloke as he hadn't played for a long time and looked pretty good on Friday night.

Lynch should get off the chain easily now.

Poor Marchbank. The guy can really play, he just can't stay together physically. He'd be pretty down tonight.
