Changes V Carlton

Captains Run Today Wednesday :

Counted 25 out there, usually there are 26, (22 plus 4 emergencies one of which will be medi-sub).

Of note:

*There was no Soldo or Dusty.
*Both Lambo & Shedda were out there
*Balta did a couple of ruck drills so may be the relief ruckmen I'm guessing from playing forward?
*Tarrant & Gibcus will probably be first up with defence duties?
*Lynch good to go.

Ross, JNR, Mansel, Hugo in the 25 out there, (NO George).

Have they left a last minute spot for Dusty?, (seriously doubt it).

**Have fun compiling your team from what I have provided.

Cheers

Could Dusty have done some
Work away from the group to assess how he is feeling - effectively isolating anyway - then if even better tomorrow away we go? Taking glass half full here..!

According to Dimma presser they will gave Dusty till this arvo but pretty much declared him out.

Caleb Marchbank out for the Blues - 2 month with a knee injury.

Really unlucky for the bloke as he hadn't played for a long time and looked pretty good on Friday night.

Their back half is decimated. No Weitering, Marchbank, McDonald, McGovern, Williams. Add in no Cerra or Pittonet and we simply must win this Thursday.
Marchbank's played once in three years. He's no big loss as you don't really miss what you haven't really had, even if he went OK last week. Feel this is the end of the line for him. League footy is a brutal industry.

Keen to see how Durdin goes. Playing through sheer necessity.

Out: Martin Soldo Edwards
In: Lynch Lambert Ross

Emerg: Edwards, MRJ, Mansell, Soldo

Medi Sub: Edwards

Just edited my post. Listening to Hardwick, he didnt give any guarantees about Edwards playing. And coming off an injury concern I think he will play the medi sub like Lambert was used last week.

I could pick out nearly every player that played on Thursday when the crowd would have had their head in their hands. Yes I was at the ground.

Maybe Jacks ridiculous kick for goal in the 2nd, kicking along the ground in the wet from 25m out was dumb
Or how about Broads kick out on the full in the 3rd off his left which went about 5m
Or how about Soldos phantom mark in the 3rd when Juddy kicked the perfect kick for him into 50

I'm not sure why you are singling out Tarrant. He played his role perfectly well on Thursday much like most of the team but that doesn't mean he didn't make mistakes (practically everyone out there made mistakes).
None of the above have dropped in overall skill level to the same degree. He is just too slow and his level of confidence has fallen off a cliff.
Jack is slow now too, but he is still trying and deservedly, has lost none of his clever player reputation. Broad is still a star,
while Soldo admittedly is your slightly better argument.
Very slow but still a very competitive ruck and still trying hard as distinct from 6 who, unlike Miller, looks to avoid running past his direct opponent to make the next contest.
We have seen the very best in Rance, Astbury, Grimes, Nick, Shorty and now Daniel.
I don't expect that level of performance from either an elderly Tarrant or an inexperienced Miller, but we have more than enough evidence to say that at least Miller is quick and will run to the next contest and compete.

Could be either Ross or MRJ. I suspect it might be MRJ, so I'm going with.

Out Martin, Soldo, Edwards
In Lynch, Lambert, MRJ

Sub - Edwards

Out Edwards sub, Martin and Soldo.
In Lambert and Lynch and maybe M Jr, but with Castagna's omission last round and Bakers success in the forward line, I suspect rank out sider Stacky may be called in to play as a defender.

Looking like Mozza for Duz. I hope so, because I wanna see this kid back in the team. Rioli v Cartoon.....1982 vibes.

Should have spend that last 24 hours in salt therapy - place just down the road from him (Salts of the Earth Hampton) - tried this a few times over the years, not mumbo jumbo medicine.!

Carlton are playing Durdin the kid they picked up in the mid season draft.
What's lynch paying for +5??

Would like him in though.

He's always a good bet with or without a decimated Carlton backline. Has murdered the Blues for years even in his Gold Coast days.

We won the 2nd semi final against them in 82. Should have won the granny too.

Got a feeling Dusty will play.

Out: Soldo
In: Lynch

Lambert continues as sub or he swaps with Edwards

Have read Saad and DeKoning trained away from the main group today. Is there an option to forfeit?
