Changes for Semi

Chol as much I am liath

not confident that Nank can ruck the mins he did last night again.

Practice match ( whatever you call them ) against the Cats and Broad & Caddy. So there is two to come in with Lynch . Maybe another runner or mid.

We're better off with 22 AFL grade players on our list and letting Saints ruck uncontested at times than pick Chol.

Jon Ralph says Rich V Saints will be at Metricon next Friday night.
Lol Saints would like to play at the Gabba of course they would, but ralph says as the Tigers are the higher-ranked team they have the choice of location.
Cats to play the winner of pies v eagles at the gabba on Sat night.

If the tiges get up we would then play Port on the following Friday at AO

Ryder (hammy) is huge bonus. One are where we are vulnerable and negates the need to play Chol!

George has had a decent year. Doesn't deserve to be dropped. One player that's been all year except for one or two cameos where he looked like coming back to his best is Lambert. Hasn't had a good year. Wasn't great last night.

Don't agree for a minute that George has had a decent year - but he ain’t gonna get dropped now
Hopefully he‘ll be better alongside both Jack and Tom
Lambert has been off his best for a while but we need him with the hope that he finds some of his old form

Saints are tall down back.
We got to get a better system just bombing it. Got to stop their intercept marking. Saints took what 20+ . Can’t allow that.
I understand Baloo. It may make the decision easier if Ryder is ruled out.
Broad & Caddy played well today.

I think you get the band back and trust the back 7 to do the job.
Broad goes back.
Balta to ruck and push forward as an option.

I’m comfortable with that . Got to win this to get into a PF.

It’s not h & a . It’s a final. As much as Dimma doesn’t like positioning changes of the sort & we may argue the point the pros & cons of Balta, to me he is our ‘ wildcard ‘here.

We have no option now. No second chances.

No way I trust Chol. No way is it Miller time.

In - Lynch, Caddy, Broad...

Outs- Chol, Aarts ( sorry ) & Castagna ( sorry Zipps). Questions on a few others. Don’t think you will see more than 3.

Could be just 2 changes. MC may not make many changes and trust the boys to get the job done.

Experience will count a lot !

PF berth & fix our lapses of discipline on field issues.

Clearly we need to pick a side that can overcome St Kilda, but it should also be the same combo that can then crush Port then Brisbane (if they win.)

To my mind, Caddy and Broad add the flexibility, grunt and toughness of two seasoned big bodies to do just that.

Broad frees up Balta at times to help in the ruck. Caddy gives extra marking power up forward and reduces intercept marking. And both can play key roles between the arcs.

Importantly, when we play Port, both Broad and Caddy, as well as others, have to target Port's young guns like Rozee, Butter, Duursma and make them realise it's a cut-throat final in a contact sport.

Ditto for the Brisbane rematch – crunch young guns like Berry, Lyons, McLuggage.

This is exactly what Hardwick did as a player, and 'controlled aggression' will be needed to take us all the way.

I agree with all but we know that Castagna won't be dropped.

My outs would be: Chol, Pickett, and Aarts
Ins: Lynch, Caddy, and Broad

If the club only goes with 2 outs, then it will be
Lynch and Caddy In
Aarts and Chol Out

I was a fan of George but the bloke just can’t kick or make a good decision. I recon he’s also had minimal pressure impact. Sheds and Bolton through there for me

I know Astute Re Castagna but it was out of a few others and I went with Georgie as much as it pains me.

It could be another we have discussed but most of us have it 2/3 changes.

Yes this was obvious once Lynch was out. I wrote it a few times.
Dont know why selection so conservative. ..and flawed.

Ryder out and more than likely Carlisle out as well. Be interesting who comes in the side apart from the obvious in (Battle) next week. Here's hoping they don't name another ruckman (Abbott)

Battle probably plays second ruck I'd say. What happened to Carlisle?

Just heard that Carlisle returning to Melbourne for the birth of his kid and will miss next week also
