Changes against Collingwood.

What is being insured against though? Gibcus has fitted in well. Need more time to see what Miller has. And Biggie is in the wings. Was always a bit of a weird decision to recruit a 32yo imo.

We didn't have Gibcus though when we recruited Tarrant and there was no guarantee he would get to us.

Richmond midfielder Dion Prestia will have scans ahead of the Tigers’ clash with Collingwood after being subbed out of Friday night’s huge win over the Eagles at three-quarter-time with Achilles and soleus muscle tightness.
The star midfielder has had a wretched run with injury since the start of 2020, playing 23 games in that time as he battled soft-tissue injuries.

Tigers coach Damien Hardwick said the decision to sub him out was a cautious one as the 29-year-old played the third quarter despite reporting the soreness at half-time.
“It’s a really challenging one for us because he is so important to how we play, but we could not take the risk with him getting injured,” Hardwick said.

Prestia missed rounds two and three with a minor hamstring issue and is desperate to keep playing. Hardwick was noncommittal when asked about the triple premiership player’s availability in round eight.
“It’s hard to tell. We’ll obviously get scans and work our way through it,” Hardwick said.

Dustin Martin is expected to return against Collingwood, although Hardwick said no decision had been made. However, he conceded the champion Tiger, who took a break from the game after round one for personal reasons, was keen to play.

Definitely soft tissue injury imo. This is the problem when you have continuous soft tissue injuries, it puts extra unwanted stress on other parts of the body. I am worried for Prestia. He's shown what a champ he is this year but I fear his time is near.

No true, so the backup should have been to use Miller and try Biggie and recruit someone else younger. A 32yo and a 30yo as our primary key defenders makes no sense for a team unlikely to finish top 8.

George played one of the best games I've seen him play last night.

Particularly the first quarter. Strong, chased, hard at it and got involved.

But I just.. Can't. I know what we'll get from him next week.

Even when he kicks goals, he annoys me. Why when you're running on to an open goal on your preferred foot, would you stop, sell the world's slowest candy, move backwards on to your non preferred, then snap it a metre and a half off the ground?

I know I shouldn't complain about goals, but just why.

But my biggest gripe is an assumed one from watching live at the 'G. His forward pressure is extremely overrated. He really doesn't get involved enough defensively, through pressure acts or tackles.

It was really brilliant seeing Stack and Maurice forward. Genuine hunters of the ball and man, with game sense, anticipation and speed.

I have a sense the coaches will recognise that we have Castagna upgrades now.
It’s time.

You’re not bringing Cotch back? Bit harsh.
No, couldn't fly to Perth.
Team plays well and wins.
Reward the team.
Cotch waits his turn, misses a game or 2 in Melbourne.

I see where you are coming from but experience is needed for this very important game.

Presumably DTL Dave was expected to play on this season.
When he pulled the pin - perhaps the feeling was that Miller, Biggie (and subsequently Gibcus) would all benefit from a Dave like player. in the team.
Hence Tarrant for 1-2 years
Having said that I expected Tarrant to show more than he has to this point.

For a bloke that makes a lot of sense almost all the time the george hate is hard to underastand. He has played an important role in all ou=r flags. Important. And you continue to denigrate him. Its baffling really. After one game you essentially nominate MRJ as an upgrade? So harsh on george.

In past few weeks on here have seen arguments to drop Lynch, Jack, now out Broad, out Graham, bring Pickett back as a Sub.. ???
And now leave Cotch out again this week as we won without him last week….
Seriously .. wtf

Game on this week. Tough selection.

Cotchin & Pickett have to come in if fit. Prestia is a question mark. Not sure Tarrant is worthy of automatic inclusion. Balta is better back.

Edwards would be first out for me followed by Ross, RCD & Rioli jnr in that order - depending how many changes are needed.

This is very important game to win.
Have a look at the other games and you will see the top sides have pretty easy contests.
We need to win this to stay in touch.

Plus Dusty of course. Lots of selection headaches, albeit the West Coast game should be taken with a grain of salt.

We’ve got three definite in’s with Tarrant a maybe. If Edwards stays, it could only be as a sub.

In: Dusty, cotch and Pickett
Out: Stack, RCD and Prestia (injured) RCD to be sub
