Changes against Collingwood.

Could the inclusion of Stack and MRJ be the new dynamic trio of Castagna, Butler and Rioli?
I hope so - I definitely felt it had some similarities (PS - DRioli did some really good things last night! He may have found his mojo!

Some interesting decisions to be made.

Can't see anywhere to put Tarrant so maybe a game in the VFL, Gibcus has taken his spot.

RCD wasn't great against Melbourne and was in and out of the game against WCE. People keep saying he is a big bodied mid, but I don't see it, he doesn't look big next to the big mids. Well, this week we have a decent midfield to combat, I would leave RCD in, this is the week to perform or it might just be a bust.

I am really unsure about Stack's game. The impression I get is that with Stack and MRJ we had a lot more forward pressure which addresses an issue we have had all year, that is the way the opposition waltz out of our forward line and score. Stack didn't get much of the ball but he did seem to be close by a lot. So hard to work this out on the TV. Stack needs to be given a few games (like RCD, but for RCD this is week 3 so different scenario, brutal game footy). So, Stack gets at least 2 more games for mine.

Pickett must come back if fit, same for Cotch and Dustin.

Who to leave out is the issue. I like Shedda too much but maybe a week off. Lambert, how did he pull up, looked to be fine and he is very important. Ross, yes I know was sub, but no space for him. Castagna was everywhere but still, those skill errors . . . KMac I would not drop, he is an amazing winger.

Don't really know who to leave out but we have a few who need to come back in, will leave it to those in charge.

My dear Roksman, let me give you a some tips in the ways of PRE. All staff must have perfect foresight in all aspects of recruiting and long-term, mid-term and short-term list management, player development and selection, and never make any mistakes, ever. If they do they should be sacked pronto

No they are allowed one mistake - as long as it occurs before they join the club

Stack did not look 100% fit
He is a firsts player, he will get better, we have seen it before.
His tackle on the wing, dispossessed the eagle no reward then instantly gets tackled from the back free kick against for holding the ball was undeserved. Missed a free for effort and then gives one away from effort. But he got on with it. He is in the right spot, he hits the drop of the ball at speed, there is only upside to Syd playing IMO. Hope he stays in.

Prestia - Dusty manage game time.
Any other injuries only other changes required.
Rest the older boys, reward the team as there was good balance and cohesion for the first time in ages. Let's see if it was the eagles or if it was the structure.

You’re not bringing Cotch back? Bit harsh.

out Castagna?

did you actually watch the game?

if you did, and are not merely trotting out your tiresome obsession yet again, then I suggest following a sport you know more about.
Haha, this from the guy who wanted us to drop Lynch and Riewoldt this week.

I suggest you have a long hard look in the mirror before you claim to know more about this sport than anyone else.

Then again, you're looking to pick a team to maximise our draft selection, aren't you?

So yeah. Castagna should be first picked all year.

Out: RCD, Graham
In: Martin, Cotchin

However I can’t see Hardwick not bringing Tarrant back in.

Sure is going to be a difficult selection meeting by the MC this week as no one disgraced themselves yesterday. Stack may not have had a lot of the ball but he sure harried the WEagles into more mistakes. Re Gibcus, at the start of the season I thought he was being overhyped but he has shown he is a player who we can rely on and plays beyond his years and experience. He still needs to fill out his teenage body a bit to be a true KPD but agree he has overtaken Tarrant already

100% Shorty into the middle was inspired.

he found space and his ball use was surgical.

I gave him 4 votes.

but lets not get carried away.

his centre square match up for much of the night was WAFL player Connor West, and the ball only went one way.

Shorty was essentially playing a HBF on a half pitch.

Throw shorty into the middle against Oliver, Petracca, Gawn and Viney,

and it would be very ugly indeed.

again, great coaching to throw him in there last night, and close to a BOG performance
We have been found lacking in the midfield and finally the Match Cttee did something new.
It worked.
With Cotch and Dion at his side plus Dusty, Bolton and hopefully Lambert and Stacky, we will sit those dee’s down.

Nothing like a Saturday after a few clock watches and a good win!

I don’t think Taz is coming back, Aces.

I reckon our performance last night, along with the positional changes, had the coaches quietly chuffed.

Yeah sure the opposition was poor but the way we went about it was a marked difference to rounds 1-6

Personnel down back and up forward is now locked in. Just gotta add the cream to the midfield.

Oh and drop Castagna according to some Einstein on these boards

Ideally...
Out: RCD, Edwards, Stack, Prestia and perhaps Lambert (noted his limp post match)
In: Martin, Cotchin, Mansell, Pickett and Clarke or Sonsie
