Captain Cotchin

Agree. Jackson doesn't do the role he should be doing. Think Tucky is though. Diving into packs head first.

Oh Tuck plays the role of "being where the ball's at" Tigs, wasn't questioning that, but I dont see him as a player that we'd use to keep the Cotch a little more "bruise-free" was my point.

Way to many of our guys like to hang on the outskirts calling for an easy ball rather than go in and shepherd the bloke over the pill, thats something that needs addressing ASAP at Tigerland.

Hardwick actually said the people in charge at the club need to get some protection for Cotchin - i.e. we dont have that player/s at the club. does not say much about Jackson and also may be why Tuck has been on the outer.
He was "gone "in the last quarter yesterday . Completely spent with just nothing left in his legs .
In his first few seasons he was 60% fit , this year I think he is 80% , still fades at times . Watch out when he is 100% .
My view still is and has always been that we need Cotchin , Martin and Deledio rotating through the middle with them all resting forward as well .

Need a ruckman capable of either putting the tap into advantageous space for our mids to run onto, or more importantly use the body to do some bullocking work and clear a bit of room for our mids to work in.
Guys like NicNat, Sandi and Mummy do a fantastic job of getting their bigarsed bodies in the way of opposition mids to create space or even get under to clear the ball from congestion.

Cotch might be in a bit of Trouble with the MRP.Think it was in the 3rd where he stomach punched Adams in our backline. Was highlighted by Foxtel. After the kingy fiasco last week,Cotch will probally get Life.

Yep noticed that too. Was completely gone.

Completely 'gone' or just moved forward?
Stamina hasn't been an issue in most games so not sure why this was any different..

To me he looked exhausted. Saw him come off the bench and head to the forward line, looked like he could have used another rest before he even got to the forward 50.

yep. I was near the interchange and when I saw him he was completely knackered . Quite distressed actually .

I thought Cotch looked very sore in the last quarter, he could hardly run. I just hope it wasn't a repeat of the leg problems he has had in the past or the dreaded OP.

Reckon he an Martin will have about 20% better fitness next season barring injury........could be scary

Happy days, Mr Corn Chips. :beer

I reckon 22%. We'll see who's right.

I was surprised. Then again you usually need to put in more than one good season to make that side unless you're exceptional.

he should prob be in ahead of del santo (admittedly from a biased POV) but he wouldnt get in the squad ahead of any of the other midfielders.

I'd have him ahead of Dal Santo, Fyfe (easily), Priddis (easily), Thomas, Swallow and possibly Kelly.

Statistically Cotch is behind all those players in most important stats but the biggest issue for Cotch atm is his disposal efficiency. He has the 2nd worst disposal efficiency out of the top 50 disposal winners (per game). I don't think this goes unnoticed. It's a tough midfield to crack. His time will come.

2nd in the league in clearances, does a tonne of inside work. For mine should have been there in a heartbeat

Has a better efficiency than Boyd, Black, Kennedy, O'Keefe, Fyfe & very similar to Judd, Thompson, Goodes etc.

Flawed stat ILO.
