Sorry.....you're grasing at straws, instead of grasping for the switch...

I just can't get it in my head that someon would willingly kill his three kids, despite the level of hatred to the ex-wife. 'Simply' bumping off the ex I can understand but the kids? Makes no sense.
Looking at the path of travel they published in the paper I failed to see the three distinct turns they talked about. Looked like one gradual turn. Cars can end up in all sorts of freakish positions. I thought also the testimony of the friend could be dismissed as well, we've all said we'd like to 'kill someone' without really meaning it - witness Richmond supporters at a game or the play 12 Angry Men.
Something is not quite right.

I'm sure people would have thought the same about the Chinese bloke who dumped 'Pumpkin' at the train station if it wasn't captured on security footage.....and I'm sure people thought the same about this bloke as well:

Sorry JB...but there are some evil cretins out there, Farquarson another one to add to the list, I'm afraid.

Harry said:What's the point in keeping someone in jail for life when there is undeniable evidence and/or a confession for a brutal crime. If they are at "the point of no return" where there is absolutely no doubt about guilt then they should be disposed of. Simple. Why waste time and money on feeding and sheltering them? What is this going to achieve if there is no intention of rehabilitation and release? Grown adults brutally raping and slitting the throat of children is a clear example of the human species gone wrong and there should be a methodical approach of extinguishing them.
Harry said:Undersatnd what you are saying but there have been many instances of people killing thier own kids.

I regularly drive past the place where it happened and there are three little white crosses on the fence near the dam. It's heartbreaking.
I have no particular opinion on whether Farqharson commited the crime or not, but i have to accept that he was found guilty in a court of law.
having said that, i remain utterly opposed to the death penalty. It's barbaric and it won't bring the kids back.
rarely happens in these days of duty of care t74.but i understand your sentiments ;DTiger74 said:Why let a guy die in peace? Let him suffer for the rest of his days in a cell, being raped by Bubba.

We're not talking about bringing the kids back (or as other posters have mentioned, capital punishment is not a deterrent)...we're talking about what someone like this DESERVES for his crime.
Whether it is Milat, Bryant, Farquarson, Sharpe....what do they DESERVE for their crimes, where they took the lives of other innocent human beings?

and this bloke isnt a nutter?jb03 said:Agree but rarely at that age and by someone of seemingly sound mind.
Bit different I think Stoney, Bryant was an out and out nutter and didn't know his victims. Farqarson, despite a messy divorce had a lot to live for; even just in the three kids alone.
