Callum Coleman-Judas - extricate yourself to Nth Ballarat, you git

Yes. And not even Pick 40 according to Michael Gleeson/The Age. Bit different to what Tom Morris reported.

North, Richmond debate worth of Coleman-Jones

By Michael Gleeson

North Melbourne has offered a slide of draft picks in the late rounds next year in an ambit opening bid for Richmond’s ruck forward Callum Coleman-Jones.
North has offered their third round pick next year for Coleman-Jones but want Richmond’s fourth round pick back in return in the deal for the player.
The Tigers and North are a long way apart in early discussions as Richmond wants the Roos’ pick 20 for the big man who has been offered a four-year deal to move to Arden Street.

Coleman-Jones was drafted with pick 20 four years ago.

Richmond was frustrated and disappointed at the player’s decision to leave in the first instance believing opportunities would begin to open up in the Tigers senior team next season and beyond.

They also feel the player had been well supported by the club after his COVID breach at a Gold Coast strip joint and fight outside a kebab bar along with teammate Sydney Stack cost the club $100,000 in the salary cap and saw the players suspended at length.

North holds the first pick in the pre-season draft but it is unlikely the player or his management is keen to use this avenue to move.

North reasons the 22-year-old player has only played nine games since being drafted in 2017.

Coleman-Jones has spent most of his time as a back-up forward to premiership stars Tom Lynch and Jack Riewoldt.

The 200cm athletic tall played most of his junior football in the ruck and wants to play more as a ruckman than a forward.

Richmond has already lost versatile tall Mabior Chol this off-season with the ruck forward moving to the Gold Coast Suns as a free agent.
Offering a 3rd with a 4th back. Ridiculous.

Arguably worth more than 20. Developing tall and we only got the developing years and now another club gets only the good years. With all our picks, 38 is useless. 20 or let him walk.

Here's hoping that eventuates. Fair bit of mud being slung at CCJ here but all he has done is accept a better offer which no-one should begrudge.

We should have presented him with more attractive terms in the first place.
It was suggested earlier that he was offered $200,000. I don't know if that is true but if so that seems a little light.
But Richo that apart you are missing the point. Forget the fine, forget that he almost certainly cost himself an opportunity to play in our '20 premiership team and forget Jack's decision to play on.
The fact is that CJ has missed opportunities only because the incumbents have been so good. Nank and Soldo earlier, plus Jack etc kept him out because at this stage of his career they were better.
But he is nearly home. He will get further opportunities this season and next season will be Jack's last. He will then be a first choice member of a team that knows how to win more premierships and almost certainly will.
The envy of every other young ruck/forward in the competition.

This is from the AFL website, written by Cal Twomey. Suggesting the Gleeson/ Age article was accurate.

NORTH Melbourne has made its first move to land Richmond's Callum Coleman-Jones, offering the Tigers a future third-round pick for the tall forward.

The pick would fall around the No.40 mark in next year's NAB AFL Draft if the Roos finish around the bottom-four after their wooden spoon campaign in 2021.

The Tigers will want more for the 22-year-old key forward/ruck given their investment and belief in him however the Roos are likely to use the leverage of the pre-season draft, where they hold the first selection.

Ideally,

suns offer cj a good deal and us a good pick,

we tell norf to get *smile*

and they take rhylee west in the psd.

*smile*.

Only certainty now is the AFL schedule the Tigers vs North game at Marvel Stadium next year if North don’t budge on that offer or walk him to the PSD....
Only way they’ll get us to attend and CCJ might retire straight after...

The H/SUN twitter page saying North are offering pick 38 (or whatever their 3rd is) for Judas, take it or leave it.

if North pick up West, will their member by a Suns membership?

If 20 is too much for the Roos, surely they can back themselves not to be *smile* next year, and offer their 2nd pick next year, which could be around 30 if they get near the 8.

I'd make a banner next year if he walks to the PSD.

Cash *smile* Judas.

I do believe Stig pointed out in 2019 or 2020 that CCJ was causing us some drama managing him. To do with drinking I think. He wanted him sacked after kebab-a-thon. I don't think, as some have suggested, that Cujo has been the model AFL employee and had one little slip before wanting to leave. I think he's been a recidivist and owes us a lot. *smile* poor outcome.

If he *smile* us over, I can’t wait for either Nank to destroy him in a ruck contest or for Balta to take him to the cleaners.
