Callum Coleman-Judas - extricate yourself to Nth Ballarat, you git

Yes Chol is UFA because he's previously been delisted, we get nothing if he leaves & i doubt the offer to leave would get us any compo
Hocking has already set that up as a farwell gift .
The compo for Chol leaving will be a late 2nd rounder in the Rookie draft..

Yep, i think you're thinking about a minimum 2 year's contract for each player picked at the national draft. Tom Boyd who was first pick in the national draft was traded the following season
The AFL will change rules if we took kids off GC

If its true that we're after a ready made mid then i think that player is either Hopper or Taranto which will involve CJ.
CJ & 16 for either is my tip.

Is Hollands allowed to be traded before his 2nd year is completed at GC?

dunno, but theres simply zero chance GC would trade him.

But GC are into CCJ. We might parcel CCJ + Mabs for pick 3?

now that'd be a deledio/tambling draft hand 3,8,15 etc.

Yeah that would be great but apart from the obvious Deledio pick we stuffed up that draft dismally!

for the millionth time, Mabs is a free agent, we cant trade him.
we will get compensated an end of 3rd round pick from the AFL, at best

Exactly. Which is why it would be stupid to not attempt to keep him; at least as a back-up for a JR8 who is nearing the end and injury could bring forward rapidly and ruck too. After investing all the time and development in to him, better to keep with a fair contract offer than lose for pitiful compensation.

I'm sure Mabs would like to stay as he is really bonded with the boys at the club, but probably the lure of far better money and security from GCS where he can rejoin his family out of a lockdown environment too, will be hard to knock back.

I heard one of CCJ or Chol might be a free agent. not sure which one, and i havent seen it verified so it might be fake news.
but if it was true it might affect our ability to trade them.

There is greater overall benefit in keeping Chol and trading CJ. We need to somehow get GC's pick 3 and young Hollands now that Hopper is off the table. Cerra would be nice but too expensive with respect to cap and picks.

Except we keep the inferior player, and talls are more valuable than smalls.

true. the only drawback would be we would still have Chol on our list, and not CCJ. Besides those small details it is the better option.
