Bye Bye Jack Higgins!

I think that the main similarities between Higlet and Aker is that, wrongly, their personality will be the main discussion as apposed to their footballing prowess.

When discussing Aker, most peoples first thoughts are regarding his apparent poor behaviour at both the Lions and the Dogs. The public seem to conveniently forget that he was a brilliant footballer who won a brownlow and three premiership medallions.

Correct re perceptions.
People forget Billy Brownless could kick over a wheat silo as well as drink froffies.

Goes at the ball hard and just follow's his instinct, which is always right. Been an exciting start! exciting to see where he takes it!

Dal santo is a flog! He and Cooney are going to another reason to turn off media devices!

He's no Aker but he's a star. More Boomer Harvey for me, if we're comparing. A star. Along with Balta, two large feathers in Bully's cap, called them both early.

Bully also preferred Sam Taylor over CCJ with early points going to Taylor, a few more years required to see what CJ becomes

CCJ was always going to be a 4-5 year burn but is coming along beautifully , He was the best Ruckman in his draft even though many had Hayes going 1st round (which he didnt)

CCJ in 3 years time will be our #1 Ruckman

Not as quick as Harvey either for leysy.

As good as he is, he'll never get to this level, but purely on traits, faults, athletic gifts and game style.

He's more Ablett Jnr than those.

Not straight line quick
But Evasive as *smile*
Great overhead
Never goes to ground
Thighs like a tree
Smart
One touch

I could live with that

At draft camp Higgins was asked what his strengths were. They say he replied "I have nothing to declare but my genius."

Early days my view on Higgins was the he was a good footballer who would be at that level. Wasn’t convinced he was going to be anything better than that, a decent player. Nothing wrong with that of course.

What has slowly changed my mind was when he played on the ball a bit and he started racking up the possessions. I think he will be better than that but I still think his lack of straight line speed is the thing that will stop him being an out and out star.

Good read, and typical comment from a Chokingwood fan.

Are you kidding? The guy is a flash in the pan. He will be exposed this year.

bitter about his goal

Surprised he didn't spend more time at the centre bounces in the JLT, especially with his progression there last year, and no Caddy, Conca and Grigg.
